Vehicle description
Lincoln Mark viii Collector"s edition, This is a very rare and limited edition Mark VIII that Lincoln built to commemorate the last year of the Mark series. Lincoln built around 1500 of these limited vehicles and they are numbered as shown. Mine is number 643. Lincoln has not built any more Marks since 1998.
On top of the already luxurious and sport oriented Mark VIII LSC, the Collector’ Edition adds the following items:
- Two tone colored leather seats, front and back
- Woodgrain steering wheel
- Woodgrain transmission shifter knob
- Special tri-coat exterior paint
- Chrome wheel center caps with raised Lincoln emblems
I am the third owner of this vehicle, I bought the car in 2011 with 48000 miles from New York, and I have only put on14000 miles since purchase.
I am a mechanic and have done all the maintenance work myself, so it was done correctly. The car runs and shifts fine, rides super smooth, and sounds great. I have always babied this car, and tried to keep it stock and used factory OEM parts (when available) when replacing components. I have not messed with any performance chips or programs to squeeze more horsepower out of the engine. 290 factory horsepower is enough for me.
I have replaced the following items:
- Air suspension compressor and relay. The air ride suspension works flawlessly
- Two ignition coils
- Transmission fluid and filter were replaced 2000 miles ago
- Four brand new tires
- New battery
- Blend door actuator and reinforced it so it will be good to go for a long time
- K&N air filter. I have the original air filter box as well
I have all the receipts for the work that was done by the original owner and also do have the original sticker price. it does have some surface rust underneath since it came from upstate regions. It also had a lifter noise from sitting and it went away for a while after I changed the oil. It came back again and it was gone after 10 minutes. This is all from sitting. The chrome wheel center caps have been reconditioned and the “raised” Lincoln emblems have been restored, and unlike other Mark VIIIs from the era, the rear neon light works fine and the ballast has been changed. These parts are not available from Ford anymore. I also have an extra set of clean original chrome wheels which will come with the car if I get my asking price, there are some bubbling around the center cap.
I have described the car as well as possible. it"s been pretty much sitting ever since I bought it. I bought it with the intention of keeping it but I just don"t have the time or the place to keep it. The condominium association won"t let car covers be used.
Please feel free to ask any question, my name is Rashad, 240-481-3563, calls are preferred but I will reply to texts also. I"m not sure why auto check is reporting four owners for this vehicle. It was purchased in Illinois, then it went to New York and then I bought it.
