Vehicle description
About this vehicle This 1998 Jeep Wrangler / Tj is an original with updates to the exterior and drivetrain. The owner has had it for 5 years. The vehicle runs great and is not regularly driven. Seller"s Notes Sold as is. Jeep is currently sitting on the Universal Studios backlot, you can come get it or I can deliver within a reasonable distance. Vehicle Details This 1998 Wrangler was purchased, painted and prepped for “Gilmore Girls; A Year In The Life” to match the original Jeep driven by Lorelai Gilmore (played by Lauren Graham) in the original series. During the shows production the entire exhaust system was replaced and the catalytic converter was replaced (so it would pass smog) When the show wrapped I took it home and drove it infrequently. FlashForward to December 2018 - The Warner Bros Studio Tour Gilmore Holiday Pop-Up Event. WB asked me to rent the Jeep to the event as a photo op for Gilmore fans. Type “Gilmore Jeep” on Instagram and you’ll see it on many individual fans feeds. It happened again in 2019. I was about to sell the Jeep to Warner Bros as part of their permanent picture vehicle collection….then the pandemic happened and screwed it up. The tours is returning but many of their plans are on hold after a year of being idle. I mention all this because if you buy this vehicle you may be approached by WB around the holidays to rent this car to them. It’s enough money that it’d be foolish to turn it down. Other things I’ll mention about the Jeep; it was originally Red. Painted for the show. The tires it wears should probably be replaced - not because of tread wear but age. The soft top is still good; it has quite a few good years left. Replacements are not expensive when the time comes. The fog lights aren’t hooked up to anything - they’re for show. Everything works; AC is cold, USB stereo works great, seats flip forward easily, all lights and gauges work etc. Now, The only thing I’m going to do to prep this thing to sell is replace the OEM fender flares - they’ve seriously grayed and look crappy. Other than that, it’s a 4 cylinder engine Jeep. It’s loud, noisy and bumpy but a lot of fun to drive. That said, it’s sold as is. I’m pricing this thing slightly above its blue book value - because this thing is going to mean something more to a fan - speaking of which, YES - Lorelais screen-used license plates are indeed included. If I missed anything don’t hesitate to ask me. Exterior Interior Custom Delivery Instructions Will deliver within a reasonable distance or arrange for shipping Download the Motors app
