Vehicle description
Up for sale is my 1998 2 door Tahoe LT 4x4. This particular Tahoe is in good shape, drives wonderfully, and has just under 140,000 miles. I purchased it 4 years ago from my neighbor, who owned the Tahoe for 12 years and kept it as a second car. In the time I"ve owned it, the Tahoe was rarely driven. This vehicle has been in California since new. It is located in Santa Monica.
To the best of my knowledge, this Tahoe has never seen snow and has never done any offroading. It has a clean vehicle and title history.
I have the title and most of service & repair history.
Because I hardly drive the truck and didn"t really need it, I decided to give the Tahoe to a family member as a surprise college graduation gift this summer. To make it a good gift, I had some serious work done. Most importantly:
The engine was completely rebuilt @ 138,900 miles.
The interior has been refreshed, including the seats, sun visors, and headliner. Interior looks almost new.
The master cylinder has been replaced New (rebuilt) starter installed Windshield wiper motor replaced (new blades as well)
New 650 CCA battery
All of this work has been done in the last 1,000 miles or so. I"m selling the Tahoe because the young man I planned to give it to as a surprise went out on his own and bought himself a used Acura. So now I have this incredible truck that I don"t need.
More about the Tahoe: It is an absolute pleasure to drive. No problem getting up to highway speed or merging into freeway traffic. It"s fast (for an SUV) when it needs to be. All the gauges work, and everything that should light up does. The power seats work. No funny squeaks, sounds or smells. No funny codes. No odd idle sounds or misfires. This truck can easily be be someone"s daily driver.
This Tahoe is very, very good. But it isn"t perfect. What it could use:
New set of tires, the tread on these are about 25% left.
Rear speakers
HVAC service. Sometimes A/C it blows 45 degrees, sometimes it doesn"t. Heat works as intended
Radio antenna
The top of the dash is cracked.
The hood and roof line near the windshield are starting to show wear (check the pictures)
The vehicle comes with one key fob and two keys.
When I bought the truck, it had 20" aftermarket wheels. I replaced them with OEM. I will include the 20" aftermarket wheels with the sale.
I"ve attached a Carfax and a replica of the original window sticker so you can check the specifications. Both are in the pictures.
