Vehicle description
1997 Volkswagen Cabrio - Runs Great - 60531 original miles. .
Just had to relist due to a fraudulent offer. PLEASE don"t hesitate to make a reasonable offer. Car needs to go.
Now for the Good, the bad and the ugly.
Good: all original 60k mile car - I bought it as a toy (fixer upper) project in Feb 2017 with 60259 miles on it. The car was owned by a woman who lived near the beach and never put the top up. So the interior was a little rough from Florida sun exposure and the grey carpet is filthy. I knew at the 60k mark the car would need new struts and brakes, so they have been replaced. There was a leaking valve cover gasket, it has been replaced as well. there are many NEW parts(see photos) including CV shafts, transmission seal and filter kit, new rear shocks, tie rod ends, Brand NEW custom cut carpet (black), strut bar and other misc parts shown in photos.
The bad: On May 1, 2019 my neighbors oak tree split and one of the branches fell on my house and the car. See photos. After the tree was removed (May 27th) from the on top of the car, I took photos of the damage and moved to my carport and covered it. The car sat under the tree for 26 days. Due to the damage incurred by the tree, the interior got wet and now there is mold and mildew inside. I have been fighting with insurance companies over the damage for a year. None of them would pay for any of the damage, including the car.
The Ugly: The damage to the car is as follows: (the only issue with the car prior to tree was interior) dents, scratches, cracked windshield, ac not working and a hole in the top (top was replaced just before my purchase). The main weight of the branch fell on the driver side front of the car, so I do not know how much damage was done to new strut or other front end parts. The car does not drive or handle like it did, but I have driven it and engine and transmission are not affected.
Buyer will have to pick the car up or arrange to have it picked up. I will be able to assist with transfer of keys, title, etc. But, I cannot arrange any shipping, towing or any other delivery.
