Vehicle description
For sale is my 1997 Porsche 911 Carrera S showing just over 73k miles . I purchased the car in 2016. The car had been off of the road for a few years when I bought it. I’ve freshened it up and taken care of the little things that age and neglect can do to these cars and it’s ready for the next owner. This is the 2nd 993 and third Porsche I’ve owned and one I’ve always dreamed of having. But now it’s one of six cars I own and between four kids and two businesses, I just don’t drive this car enough to keep it around. In the first year, I drove it to the mechanic and to lunch every blue moon. This spring I took it on a road trip and it’s gathered dust in the garage since which in the winter is understandable but during the summer is just wrong.
During my time with the car, I replaced both valve cover gaskets, struts for the hood and deck lid, as well as changing the transmission fluid and a power steering flush, sunroof seals, rebuilt the speedometer / odometer gears (I drove maybe 300 miles before repair), changed spark plugs, and put new Continental tires on all four corners.
The 3.6-liter VarioRam flat- six engine is in great condition and runs strong. The 6-speed manual transaxle is in great shape as well. The g earbox is very tight with what feels like a good amount of clutch left in the car. steering very responsive as well. I had a PPI performed on the car by Morris Brothers, a well known and well regarded vintage Porsche specialty shop in Salt Lake City. PPI is available along with a Carfax at the bidders/ buyers request. Additional pictures are also available but are too large for to upload. T he car was repainted its factory black (L741) by a Porsche-certified body shop called Niello Porsche in Rocklin, CA. following a parking lot accident in 2009. Morris took a paint depth tool and looked over the car and stated that the inspection didn"t reveal any filler beyond .01" thick. I believe that the work has been done to a very high standard and that the respray retained the factory orange peel which is correct for this year of Porsche. I commissioned a paint correction this summer ($800 detail service). There is minor hazing in the center taillight panel. The car is finished in black over black and is unmodified aside from a professional windows out respray in 2009. I also refinished the hollow-spoke 18″ wheels in charcoal . They can easily be repainted to the factory color if the buyer prefers it . The car comes with all of t he factory books and manuals shown in the picture. The bl ack partial leather cabin i s stock and extremely well maintained , including the factory Becker CD-player and Carrera-S branded floor mats. Interior equipment includes a power sunroof, windows, and seat height adjustment . The electronics, switchgear, air condition ing, and gauges are also in good working order . Video of cold start available in the link below: https:/ www.youtube.com/watch?v=yOpNnbxVSzM
This 993 was ordered with the following factory options as shown by the pictured under-hood sticker. • 235 – N2 tires made specially for Porsche • 408 – 18″ Technology wheels (lightweight hollow spoke) • 437 – 8-way electrical seat, left • 454 – Automatic speed control • 650 – Sunroof • 688 – CD-radio Becker Porsche CDR-210 USA
Depending on who you talk to, the Carrera S 993 is the more collectible of the non-turbo 993’s and have been going up in value. The Carrera S features the same widened bodywork with the contemporary Turbo, though the car is normally aspirated and 2-wheel drive. These cars are very difficult to find in this condition with low mileage.
$500.00 non-refundable due within 24 hours of the auction completion.
Full payment due within 48 hours after end of auction via wire, no cashiers check. will accommodate shipper with advanced notice. On Aug-12-18 at 20:42:54 PDT, seller added the following information: Photo Gallery - click to enlarge
