Vehicle description
Mercury Cougar XR7, 1997, 4.6L V8. The cars runs well, drives and nearly everything works. The ignition key cylinder does not work- it starts by manually switching the ignition (needs the plastic connector rod replaced, parts included). The power steering pump is also going and a new pump comes with the car. Driver"s outside door handle is busted. Can still be opened with what"s left but will need replacement. Hood and roof were repainted when the original paint peeled off from sun exposure. Hood could use new paint again. Needs front seat belts.
This car definitely needs a little work but it is solid with only one small rust spot in front of the driver"s rear fender. It runs and drives, the engine has just a little over 1000 and has been maintained well. Sunroof works, windows and lights work. Interior is in good shape for the age, no dash cracks. Overall a good car and worthy of restoring. Could also be stripped and built for racing. I just have too many projects and don"t have time for this one. If you have any questions please ask.
