Vehicle description
Vehicle Details This was my father's car. He was the original owner, having purchased the car in August 1997 from Key Lincoln Mercury in Bridgeport Connecticut. He lovingly maintained this beauty and it has been garaged for its entire life. This beautifully preserved Lincoln Town Car has only 51,115 miles. Yes, you read that right, Fifty One Thousand One Hundred Fifteen Miles! The exterior paint is flawless. Literally the only thing I can say about the exterior is that there are a couple of tiny scuffs on the top of the bumper, probably someone set a bag down on it. It has fully operating rear self leveling suspension. Also a fully operating soft close trunk, and the 70 inch wide trunk means that all your storage needs will be fulfilled (my son joked that it was so large that he could make a hot tub out of it). The bulletproof 4.6L V8 spins the rear wheels through the 4 speed automatic transmission. The leather couches with seatbelts, the soft suspension and the metric tonnes (almost) of sound proofing makes for a ride of pure relaxation and bliss. The car has the original stereo head unit and speakers, with cassette player, which all work and sound great. My father also had an aftermarket Clarion multi-disc CD player installed. It's in the trunk, the controls are on the dashboard. He and my mom would drive this vehicle out to the country's heartland every summer for a number of years and wanted the multi-CDs, so it has plenty of highway miles on it and very little local driving. Quite frankly, it breaks my heart to sell it, if I had the garage space to keep it I would not be selling it. So, if like me, you can't imagine your life without almost 19 feet of pure American luxury, then this is the car for you.The vehicle has been serviced at least annually throughout its entire life, first at the dealer and then at a local garage. The car is driven weekly to ensure that it remains in great running condition. It is like riding on a marshmallow, and the engine sounds and runs great. The car had a recent oil change at 50,000 miles. The tires are in great shape. I had the car detailed, but there was very little that needed to be done to clean it up. My dad was an accountant and he approached the operation and maintenance of his vehicles with the same eye to detail. It has been lovingly maintained throughout its life and looks and rides great. The car also has newer tires that are in great shape. There are only a couple of flaws we noted while cleaning the car out and while running it weekly. The passenger side rear ashtray does not close. The controls on the steering wheel do not appear to be functioning. So this means that the cruise control cannot be turned on and also that the temperature and radio have to be controlled from the dashboard. We checked the fuses, but did not go any further in diagnosing the issue, so you buy it with this known issue. Other than those two things and the little scuff I mentioned on the bumper, you would think that this car had spent the last 24 years in a dealer's showroom. As I said, my dad was an accountant and maintained great records. We still have the original window sticker for this car. I also have the original 1997 Lincoln Town Car glossy brochure he got from the dealer. Also, the original purchase order from the dealer, as well as all of the faxed correspondence that my dad had with Key Lincoln and two other Lincoln dealerships as he was trying to locate just the right car and as he negotiated the price. You are welcome to all these materials with the car. I do not have the maintenance receipts for the car. While the earlier materials were in a folder in his file cabinet, he would have filed the service receipts in a box each year with the year's tax return. I have access to at least the past five years' boxes, so I can look for the receipts if you buy the car and if those are important to you. But I cannot guarantee that they still exist. I know that the car has been serviced for at least the last fifteen years at Dunn's Service Center in Trumbull CT.The car carries a clean Connecticut title with my mother as joint owner. She is also the executrix of his estate. The car is located in Cherry Hill New Jersey. You are responsible for transportation of the vehicle. You will get a clean Connecticut title signed over to you by my mom, as well as a Connecticut Bill of Sale from her. This is a rare opportunity to own a pristine American classic, a true head-turner.Message me for more pictures of areas of the car you want to see, for a copy of the carfax, or other questions you may have. Buyer is responsible for shipping or local pickup, as well as any taxes or fees. Ebay deposit required, and then transaction must be completed in a week. I am a private seller, there is no warranty on this vehicle, either express or implied. You buy the vehicle As-Is, subject only to the defects I have noted above. I know of no other defects with this vehicle. The vehicle is available in Cherry Hill New Jersey for your inspection prior to completion of the transaction. As of the date of this listing, it has 51,115 miles on it. It is driven a short distance on a weekly basis to ensure everything is operating properly, so it may have a few more miles on it when you buy it. Images Download the Motors app
