1997 Lexus SC300 factory 5-speed manual for sale. Only 120 were ever made in 1997 with a manual transmission and approximately 90 remain. This vehicle is about to be 25 years old and is turning into a classic. The car has the original 5 speed transmission with a replacement 2jz-ge with slightly less mileage~ 195,000. The engine has the Supra TT head gasket and new head studs in the event that the next owner would like to turbo the car. Compression is healthy across all six cylinders ranging from 165-180 psi. The transmission shifts through all five gears without issue- there are no grinds. The clutch is brand new and works great. The body and chassis is basically rust free, with one exception at the driver side rear fender, there is a small amount of rust visible. The paint is in decent shape, but the clear coat is peeling in some places. There are a couple of very minor dings/dents in the body. The interior is in decent shape, some stains in the carpet and the leather seats are a bit worn but no cracks. The car idles, runs and drives great. The car has the following modifications:
-New Rev9 coilovers -New Custom steel catback 3" mandrel -New 3" Circuitwerks midpipe -New slotted and cross drilled rear brake rotors -New CSF radiator -New Mishimoto 16" electric fan with automatic controller -A/C compressor delete
The following parts/work has been done on the car in the last three months:
-New power steering rack installed -New front and rear calipers -New front rotors and pads -New front brake lines -New engine mounts -New Lexus engine mount brackets -New lower timing belt cover -New Harmonic balancer -New Idler pulley bolt -New water pump -New upper and lower radiator hoses from Gates -New timing belt -New Viton Supertech intake and exhaust valve seals -New Front main seal (rear main seal was recently changed and not leaking) -New Cam seals -New NGK spark plugs -New NGK spark plug replacement wires -New distributor cap -New distributor rotor -New OE knock sensors x2 -Replacement OE injectors (used) -New dash gauge coolant temp sensor -New dash oil pressure sender -New intake manifold gaskets -New valve cover gaskets -New OE clutch -New OE flywheel and ARP bolts -New W58 throw out bearing -New pilot bushing -New AN braided inlet fuel hose with inline filter -New Platinum Diehard AGM battery -New Bosch oxygen sensor (midpipe) -New oil pan seal (Permatex Ultra black)
The car currently has a check engine light because of the midpipe- it is catless. The stock Lexus catback comes with the car. I also have the stock midpipe but is rotted badly. Also, i"d like to note that the a/c system is still present in the car minus the compressor. The condenser, lines, blower, etc are all present. The A/C compressor comes with the car. Future owner can install the compressor, get a new serpentine belt, hook up the lines and A/C is back. A lot of time and money has gone into this car over the last half of a year to get it ready for sale. This is a very rare car, and will become more and more valuable as time passes. The car is currently unregistered so there is no plate on the car.
