Vehicle description
NEW ENGINE! NEW STARTER! NEW RADIATOR! NEW PMD MODULE W/RELOCATION KIT! Selling for MUCH LESS than I have in it. This H1 is ready to roll! !
The Beast! Selling my beloved 1997 Hummer H1 wagon. I have wanted a Hummer H1 — exactly like this one — for over 20 years. And for about two years, I’ve had the pleasure of owning one. But now that baby #3 has arrived, it’s time for The Beast to find a new owner.
H1s are loud, obnoxious, giant, sexy pigs. With the custom bars, aluminum full-roof deck, wrap-around LED lights, Method wheels (with working CTIS!) and huge Toyo Open Country tires (all done by Hummercore in So Cal) this is probably the most amazing vehicle I have ever owned. If you don’t want to draw attention to yourself wherever you go, this is not the vehicle for you. If I had unlimited funds (and space), I’d probably keep her. But it’s time to find something more accomodating for a family of five.
The older H1s are notorious for having their original engines eventually crap out — and that’s exactly what happened to mine. But it won"t happen to YOU: Has a BRAND-NEW 6.5L TD power plant and aluminum radiator (thanks to the amazing team at Evans Automotive in Columbus, OH). She’s barely broken in and running stronger than ever! Please note: this is my daily driver, so mileage will likely change a bit. New engine installed at 86k, already has over 4k on new motor with one oil/filter change under her belt.
H1s are also known for having the PMD fuel system module fail as well (because of their location, they overheat to the point of failure). I dealt with that as well: New PMD (with custom relocation kit to keep it cool in the engine bay) just installed about a month ago.
Most recently — had the heavy-duty starter replaced for another $1700.
Basically, all of the things that usually go wrong with these sexy monstrosities has already happened ( lucky me!) - and have all been addressed (lucky you!). It runs and drives better than ever! Over $20,000 in NEW parts/upgrades in the past year! All receipts available.
With a 20-year-old original paint job, she could use a professional detailing and refreshing - but shines up nice for cars and coffee events, etc.
I upgraded the stereo, including six new JL audio speakers with twin rear video monitors and 10” Bazooka sub. The stereo absolutely ROCKS in this thing — and is also great for playing Peppa Pig videos for the kids. (Trust me, I know. See link to YouTube video.) Pioneer head unit with Apple CarPlay and handsfree speakerphone. Has a custom Rubber Duck HVAC relocation unit to accommodate the new stereo, and I added a backup camera as well (you’ll need it). New K&N high performance air filter. (Like everything else about this truck, it"s HUGE!) CTIS (central tire inflation system) works like a charm, with braided stainless air lines.
I absolutely love this truck — and know you will, too. Happy to answer any questions or send additional pics. MUST SELL. Buyer responsible for any shipping charges. Make an offer!
