Vehicle description
Up for sale is my 1997 Dodge Viper GTS . Current mileage on the GTS is 27,560 with only 3 registered owners in her lifetime. I bought this car from a fellow Viper enthusiast Mike C. late December 2020 and took delivery December 29th, 2020. The car was shipped from SLC, UT down here to Gilbert, AZ. The car needed a few minor things to be made "perfect" and I"ve done my best to address what I think it needed to become the ultimate street cruiser.
During my ownership, my main objective was to make this car "perfect" in my eyes. The tires were old and dry rotten when I got it, so I"ve installed brand new Nitto 555G2 275/35/18 Front tires and Nitto 555R2 335/30/18 Rears. The suspension was making some funny noises and the car had a terrible stance with unattractive wheel gap, so I upgraded to brand new BC coilovers all around, along with brand new Moog end links up front to replace the worn out factory end links. The passenger rocker panel/skirt had a bad scratch/dent in it from the previous owner loading it onto a trailer a few years ago so I removed the rocker and took it to "EA finishes" who did a phenomenal job restoring it to better than new. We fixed the dent, and did a complete re-paint of the entire rocker panel to bring it back to perfect standing. I also added a few more minor things like the Lloyds floor mats, clear side markers, and had the paint professionally paint corrected by JP Platinum here in Phoenix. He applied a 1-year sealant as well for protection.
Aside from the things I"ve done, the original owner of the car did some nice "bolt-on" modifications to it in 2007. In June of 2007, the car received the transformation into most of what it is today. The car received the beautiful set of polished Forgeline VR1 wheels, complete Paxton supercharger kit, B&B headers, and Corsa cat-back exhaust with high flow cats. The car also received an Archer racing performance clutch while it was there getting everything done. All of this was done at Archer racing in Wisconsin, with the total invoice totaling $26,890 ( Have the invoice/receipt as well). Adding in all the things I’ve done to it (tires/BC Coilovers/misc) the car has well over $30k into it at this point. Aside from the bolt-on modifications, the engine is completely OEM, never been taken apart. Everything done to this car is completely reversible, and this car can be brought back to bone stock pretty easily as all that was done were just bolt-on modifications.
The car runs/drives PHENOMENALLY . Words can"t express how nice this 97 GTS drives. I"ve owned a few Gen 2 cars, and this one far exceeds how any of them ever felt/drove. The tightness of the steering, the firmness of the BC coilovers, the silky smooth T56 transmission - EVERYTHING on this car feels like it"s brand new when driving it. It is an absolute JOY to drive, everytime I take it out for a spin I don"t want to go home because of the ear-to-ear grin that"s on my face every second of every drive. The car pulls hard through every gear, zero hesitation, just GOES. I wouldn"t hesitate to jump into this car and drive it around the country. It"d be the comfiest smoothest drive you"ll ever take in a Viper, I promise!
Price for this GTS is $77,900. It"s not the cheapest Gen2, and I understand that. I"m pricing it based on how much I"d pay for the car if I was in the market for a mint and boosted B/W Gen2 today, and taking into consideration just how nice this specific example is. I’ve had a few G2 GTS and this is the nicest one I’ve come across. No leaks, no funky noises, nothing. Just an amazing driving experience each time you set foot into this car.
Title in hand, clean and clear, still in previous owners signed off and ready to go.
Asking $77,900.00 for this GTS.
