Vehicle description
1997 Dodge Ram 3500 SLT Laramie extended cab Dually Cummins Diesel 172k, solid, rust free Fifth wheel hitch, tow package
This Dodge Ram Dually truck has had an easy life. . very small hobby farm, this truck towed a horse trailer/camper twice a year for outings, and picked up hay occasionally for the horse and donkey. . and any other needs beyond daily transportation. No heavy work here, just easy stuff. The truck is a rust free North Carolina example with some clear coat issues, a few minor dings, minor surface rust on the top.
This truck has been relegated to second class duty since the owner bought a new 2015 Dodge Ram and has been used only occasionally since the new truck was bought and is feeling lonely.
This truck needs to be driven, it is a little cold natured, but once warmed up runs fine. Tires are in decent shape, Dash has the usual cracking problems. The AC/heat has some issues that need to be addressed, suspect the doors that direct the air are the problem, they have been fixed once before. The radio does not work, it no longer picks up stations.
According to the vehicle report, this truck has had three owners, but if you look at the record, it appears it changed hands between dealers, or an auction house, or something within a month or so before this owner. So realistically, two owners. .
Pros: Solid, second owner, straight rust free Dodge Ram Dually, with a well maintained Cummins Diesel with only 172k miles. overhauled trans somewhere around 120k, Drives well - put some miles on it, do some adjustments and a little TLC and a nice paint job and you will have one nice monster of a truck.
You northern Dudes . . this has no chassis rust, or fender rust. NO rust in the bed, fifth wheel hitch has some surface rust, but nothing major. . when new ones are 60k+ a little bit of work on this one will go a long way.
