Vehicle description
This E36 M3 is simply a blast to drive. Powered by a strong S52, 3.2l I6 engine, there is plenty of power to get the job done. But where the car really comes alive is in the handling department. With near perfect weight distribution and rear wheel drive, this car handles amazing, whether on the mountain twisty roads, an autocross course, or at a track day.
This example of an E36 M3 has had a substantial amount of performance and maintenance upgrades that make it not only fun but reliable. Modifications/upgrades include:
* Mishimoto aluminum radiator * JB lightweight flywheel * Delrin motor/transmission mounts * FK coilovers with Koni inserts * K-Mac camber plates * Hawk brake pads * Shark chip * Auto solutions shift kit
The Cosmos Black Metalicpaint on this M3’s exterior shows very well for its age and mileage. While there are some dents/scrateches that are in line with the age fo the car, it"s overall a very good looking car that gets a lot of attention. It also has aftermarket 17” wheels that complete the look.
Mechanically, the car is well sorted but could benefit from a caring owner who can attend to some of the small imperfections. It has some little areas that need attention, such as the windshield wipers do not work on an intermittent basis. The low coolant indicator comes on, although the coolant level is fine. And every once in a while when it’s really hot outside and that a/c is on, the oil pressure light will flicker at idle (~500 rpm). A quick blip of the throttle resolves this problem. Just replaced the cam position sensor last weekend to resolve the check engine light. Overall it is a really solid car that I wouldn’t hesitate to drive anywhere. We just got back from a ~1000 mile road trip on which the car performed flawlessly, blew cold a/c even in 95-100 degree heat. Car will come with a binder of receipts/maintenance records going back several years.
Exterior is in good shape for the age. It cleans up and presents very well. There are a few imperfections that I captured on the photos. Probably the worst spot is in the roof where a spot about the size of two quarters has lost its paint. There’s also an area around the license plate where a dent is present due to prior owner mounting a bike rack there. Finally front bumper cover is primed black but not painted.
