History of the Hummer H1 product: The Hummer H1 is a four-wheel-drive utility vehicle based on the M998 Humvee, which was created by AM General. The vehicle was produced from 1992 through 2006, and was the first of what became the Hummer line. Originally designed strictly for military use, the off-road vehicle was released to the civilian market due to market demand. It was initially known as the "Hummer"; however, under a 1999 deal, GM bought marketing rights to the Hummer name and called the vehicle the Hummer H1. At the time, GM began marketing the Hummer H2 that was also assembled by AM General on a modified GMC 2500HD chassis. AM General continued to build the H1 and Humvee in its Mishawaka, Indiana facility. GM stopped marketing the H1 in 2006 model year, but AM General continued production of the military Humvee versions. Aftermarket parts are still available online, and many interchangeable service parts can be obtained at substantial savings simply by cross referencing to other branded vehicles. b. Base Specifications: Condition/Used Registration/Clear Title - Calif. NonOp Status Miles 141,000 Engine 6.5L Turbo Diesel Transmission 4 Spd Automatic Drivetrain All Wheel Drive Exterior Color Green (needs clear coat repaired) Interior Color Tan Cloth Model Hardtop 4dr Wagon VIN 137ZA8434VE174299 c. Pros: 1. Desirable wagon 4dr hard top cab - enclosed wagon, 2. 6.5L Turbo Diesel engine, Predator Waste Gate installed, automatic transmission, 3. Fully operational CITS air inflation system, 4. New Electrical PMD with extension to interior dash for effective care and cooling and easy replacement. (Common replacement item for the 6.5L engine) 5. Nice Tan Clith Interior with cd, dvd, burl wood dash/doghouse inserts, 6. Very low miles. (at 141,000 miles that’s only 6,200 miles per year of vehicle age!) 7. The only non-original parts on this truck is the stereo system, starter, waste gate controller, tires and that’s about it. 8. AND MAYBE MOST IMPORTANT of ALL?!Vehicle is current registered in the state of California - NO Environmental Impact Fees! Status as currently as not being operated. (I drive it far less than 1000 miles a year typically.) No back fees due at DMV. Ready for transfer to new owner with no issues. AGAIN - No environmental impact fees in California that I am aware of. 9. On July 12, 2020 the I relocated the vehicle to Michigan where I recently purchased a farm. So, truck has not yet seen salty roads in winter, or have any rust - because up until now it has been a California desert H1 it’s entire life as far as I know. 10. Vehicle Maintence: As a practical man I never worried about glitzy or luxury items. No fog lamps, no aftermarket computer mods, no booming stereo. I focused my attention on filters, oil and preventative maintenance. Take care of your gear, it takes care of you. Changed the glow plugs, secondary fuel lift pump, and other routine items. But there are some items that an informed buyer needs to be aware of. That’s only fair after all. . d. Cons of small consequence: 1. The AC and heater was disconnected by the previous owner. (I never needed or worried about it. ) Everything is there to make it work as far as I can see. 2. The vacuum gauge on the dash stopped working recently. The cruise control never worked under my ownership and some dash /gauge lamps are burned out. It’s probably a fuse or something silly, but I am not a mechanic and I avoid wiring like the plague itself! in fact I would say many electrical items need work of some kind or another. Nothing important though. 3. Needs a new clear coat paint application. (See Photos) If you look real close you can see discoloration and lost clear coat. 4. Drivers side rear door window needs a new motor installed. (Like I said - I won’t touch wiring.) 5. Passenger side mirror is manual only. 6. The original engine starter has been replaced by a typical 6.5L TD off the shelf unit. I do still have the original starter available for being rebuilt or core exchange, along with other small parts belonging to the H1 I keep just in case. 7. Base of Transmission dip stick tube leaks if the truck sits longer than 72 hours. 8. CITS air inflation system has has a slow leak. If the Hummer sits for a long stretch the tires get low. e.
