For sale is a hard to find 1996 Volvo 960 Estate Wagon. The 960 was the top of Volvo"s line for 1996 and this particular model is well optioned. This car has always been in California in the San Francisco Bay Area and I am only its second owner, having purchased it from the original owners who bought it new in San Jose California. As a result , this car was extremely well taken care of during its lifetime. The original gold paint is still in very good condition although it certainly does have small blemishes , most notably on the driver side. There are no dents anywhere and the car has never been in an accident. Likewise, the interior is all original and has never been modified and is in above average condition. The headliner is intact and not sagging. The leather has no rips and is still quite soft with extremely comfortable seats. The carpet was shampooed last year. Everything on this car works. The turn signal lever does not self cancel anymore however and the CD player in the upgraded premium stereo plays CDs sometimes and rejects them at other times. This car came equipped with the cold weather package which gives you a dash mounted temperature gauge and heated front seats. It also was fitted at the dealer with the rear facing rear seats. Additionally, it comes with a removable plastic cargo liner for the very rear and a metal, removable partition for transporting pets. The car has had a lot of work done to it over the years and I have detailed records going back 10 years. Within the past year, the car received brakes and rotors on the rear, a complete rebuild of the emergency brake and a brand new radiator approximately 1000 miles ago. The issue the car will need to have addressed in order to return it to top running condition is a periodic misfire on cylinders 1and 2. The car currently alternates between running beautifully and having a rough idle and decreased power. It has been given brand-new NGK spark plugs and all new ignition coils but it is believed there is a bad wire somewhere in the wiring harness that connects to the ignition coils that is causing a misfire. Other than that, the car drives and shifts perfectly fine when the misfire situation is not present. It is a well-preserved California car with zero rust that is heavily optioned and well worth the additional repair that it will need to return it to top running condition. I"m selling this car at no Reserve and it will come with a clean title, all the original owner"s manuals and books, three original keys, newer remote control and even the original sales literature. California buyers please take note that because of the sporadic misfire situation, the check engine light is illuminated and the car will not Pass California smog until this issue has been resolved. I will be selling the car as is, where is without a current California smog. The new buyer, if located in California, agrees to take on the smog responsibility if they are the winning High bidder.
