Vehicle description
About this vehicle This 1996 Volvo 850 is a modified vehicle with updates to the drivetrain. The owner has had it for 5 years. The vehicle is drivable. Vehicle Details Bought this car in 2015 as kind of a project car to play around with in my free time. The car was stock when I bought it and I didn’t have a ton of history on it. I knew the odometer gear was broken and the speedometer didn’t work. So, in 2016 I replaced the following parts: New in 2016: ABS module (replaced at Athens Volvo just prior to me purchasing the car) -Continental timing belt kit to include tensioner and idler pulleys etc -HEPU Water pump and OEM Volvo gasket with new bolts -Intake manifold gasket Ignition switch (speedo problem fixed!) New in 2017: -R manifold -Exhaust manifold gasket -Heater core (Ran heater hose to delete the junction at the firewall to prevent leaks) -The 2 coolant hard/rubber lines from the back of the block -Various silicone hoses -Oil cap gasket -Trans fluid drain and fill (drained and filled 2 or 3 times to try and remove any debris) -Fuel filter OBX turboback exhaust The car sat around in my garage at my apartment until I built a house in 2018. I put maybe 250 miles on the car in that time, making short trips to the grocery store and the gym. I had a work car and another daily driver, so the R was pretty much stationary. I built a house in 2018 and the R came and was parked in the garage at my house. I’ve put maybe another 50-100 miles on it in that time, again making short trips to the grocery store down the road. I have a 98 V70 T5M, a work car, and my wife’s current car. So the R just sits in my garage currently. I’ve put less than 500 miles on it the entire time I’ve owned it, I just haven’t had the heart to sell it up to this point because the P80s have a quirkiness to them that I’m fond of for some reason. But it’s time to sell the 850 and my V70 and clear up some space in my garage and driveway. The GOOD: All the parts listed above have less than 500 miles on them (though they do have some years on them obviously) Car starts and drives every time. Fires right up and runs smooth. I’ve driven it around my neighborhood now and again just to keep things moving. No super obvious leaks that I can see. It’s been parked in the same spot in my garage for a few years and I have never noticed anything under it when I clean the garage out etc. The interior is very clean and in good shape with the exception of the bolsters on the driver seat which are ripped. Has an R bumper that is in good shape, no cracks etc. Rear spoiler is in good shape and not cracked etc Body is in good shape for a 25+ year old car. There is a dent in the front of the hood. No other dents on the car. The AC blows cold and the heat blows hot. The BAD: The odometer does not work so the true mileage of the car is unknown and the title reflects that. The paint on the roof, hood, and trunk is smoked pretty good. The clear coat is flaking and the black paint is heavily faded. Could definitely use some love in the paint department. One of the studs from the turbo to the Downpipe is mauled and should be replaced, I just have not had the time to get out there and swap it. The bolster on the driver seat is ripped and has seen better days. The car was dipped cobalt blue sometime around 2017. 98+% of the dip has been removed, but it still shows on some of the rubber sealer in between the doors and small trim. I have some dip remover left and I will try to address that before the sale if I have time, if not, the dip remover will go with the car. The car currently sits on some Enkei wheels that were on there when I bought the car, but the sale will include a full set of OEM Volans without tires. I’m sure there are some things that I’m forgetting as usually happens in these ads. I’d be happy to answer any questions or take more pics or videos for anyone interested etc. Like I said before, I’m really just selling this car and eventually my V70 to clear up some space in my driveway since I use my work car for about 90% of my travels in a car. I enjoyed the car when I did take it out and and I’d love to see it go to a Volvo enthusiast who will actually enjoy the car. Thanks! Exterior No major dents or large scratches, clear coat and paint on upper portion of car is very faded as can be seen. Interior Original birch wood trim in very good shape for its age. Interior is very clean with exception of rip in driver seat bolster Engine Download the Motors app
