Vehicle description
Just in time for summer!
It"s a 4cyl so it gets good mileage (i average 26) but its also got a turbo, so when you really want to zip you can.
2 door with 2 seats in the back, so it can fit more than 2 people!
Front wheel drive 5 speed manual, so fun.
I"ve had it for about 2 years, and i think i put 5k miles on it in that time so it just doesn"t make sense to keep it. Well maintained, properly stored, and garaged by previous owner as well.
the good:
4cyl turbo, 5spd manual
automatic convertible top
heated front seats
electric front seats (3 memory settings for driver seat)
leather interior
nice car cover included
Wheels good for at least another year
6 disk cd changer in trunk (may be broken), cassette player.
Recently replaced clutch cable and fuel pump
the bad:
minimal leaks, but it has a reservoir, so water can build up, then POUR on your passenger. turbo demands mid-grade fuel minimum some dashboard screen pixels dead (pictured, still operational)
reverse syncro is out (common saab problem. see below)
clean title
Oregon registration is expired.
I am happy to help with shipping the vehicle, and am willing to drive the car as many as 3 days away for the cost of $150, and a ride to the bus/airport
about the saab reverse syncro: saabs are quirky in that in order to remove the key you must put the car in REVERSE. as a result, there is often a problem with the reverse gear*, resulting in the inability to shift into reverse while the engine is on, and some difficulty when the engine is off. Once you know the trick, it"s actually super easy. I"ll show ya when you take it for a spin. if you know you love your saabs, and are good with mechanics saab released a fix for this specific problem, and documentation on how to do this repair is extensive. for me it"s actually such a non-issue that I didn"t even bother to look at it. just remember not to try to do a wild 3-point turn in heavy traffic because you"ll just look like an @$$hole :)
* specifically, the little doo-hickey (syncro) that makes the reverse gear line up with the engine breaks.
to try to briefly describe "the trick" 1)turn car off, and try to put it in reverse (works 20%) 2)"stir" the shifter (change into different gears) then try reverse again (works 20%) 3)push the car backwards about 4-6" (WORKS 100%!) (because of this last-ditch fix you want to try never to park the car facing downhill)
