Very rare 1996 Nissan 300ZX TT SMZ number 100 out of 104 produced by Steve Millen (Stillen) and sold through Nissan dealers with Nissan factory warranties. The SMZ had a handful of upgrades over the regular 300zx Twin Turbo and brought horsepower to a claimed 365 vs factory 300. SMZ"s had upgraded brakes from the Skyline GTR and larger 17 wheels and tires as well as a Stillen body kit including front spoiler, nose panel, rear side skirts, rear wing, and rear bumper. There is also special number plaques under the hood and on the center console. The SMZ interiors had real carbon fiber trim on the doors and dash, aluminum sport pedals, SMZ decals and Steve Millen design stitched on the arm rest cover and a carbon fiber shift knob. The SMZ sold for about $16,000 over what a normal Twin turbo sold for in 1996. This SMZ is the only known car that ever came in Midnight Purple. There were only 4 SMZ"s made for 1996 starting with number 100(this car).
Midnight Purple is one of the rarest and most desirable colors the 300zx ever came in. Only about 200 300zx"s were ever imported into the US in Midnight Purple and of that only about a quarter of them were Twin Turbo models. Twin Turbos in Midnight Purple fetch a premium and rarely ever show up for sale. The last SMZ I saw for sale sold for more than double what I am asking.
Overall this car is in excellent condition for it"s age. There is typical small paint chips on the front end and there is slight oxidation on the rear bumper, and there is a small tear on the left bolster of the driver seat, but other than that the car shows very well for it"s age and mileage. I have about $27k in receipts from the Nissan Dealer of work that had been done by the previous owner. I have also in the last year of so (less than 500 miles) have had the water pump, timing belt, tensioner and rear main seal replaced. I have also replaced the glove box latch and third brake light panel, and rear hatch lift struts. The car also has had new tires put on(less than 500 miles on them). Everything on the car works as it should, save maybe for the in-dash multi disc player. The power windows, door locks, cruise control work perfectly and the air conditioner is ice cold. The original owner obviously enjoyed this car and took great care of it. Even though it has high mileage, it shows and runs like a car that has much less.
