Vehicle description

Meet the first car I ever purchased. I purchased this bone stock GSX Eclipse from the second owner back in May of 2011. Due to a new entrant into the Mitsubishi family I must downsize to three cars (first world problem I know). The second owner had told me he did not hold the vehicle for long or drive too often. To put it out there this gal has some paint fade on the top and dents on the right side. This rare example of a DSM makes for a great restoration candidate as that Kalapana Black can use a spruce up.
Nonetheless, we cannot discredit the car for what it is. It marks the inception of a DSM enthusiast page called @DSMnation! This GSX started it all. The current owner has meticulously maintained the vehicle to avoid dry rubber rot while keeping the mileage very low. The engine bay has been cleaned up with a nicely powder-coated valve cover from Detective Coating. The owner is the type of guy who steam cleans the paint and clay bars instead of washing with cold hard water. . lol you get the point. The carpet has been restored and now laminated in plastic guard wrap to prevent any dirt particles. Two spare bumpers and the oem leather nose mask will come with the car.
While most clamor for the "97-"99 body style, this "2Ga" Eclipse started the look of a smoothed out, sleeker, body style. The two tone paint job, Kalapana Black with Logan Silver side skirts, marked the car as a turbo variant, also sporting a 210hp turbocharged four cylinder engine (205 for automatic trans. .technically). This iconic 4G63 powerplant still drives like new and packs a healthy turbo punch. Timing belt was changed back in 6/12. The rotors were just changed to brand new drilled and slotted rotors and new brake pads for the front and rear. Wheel center caps have been painted OEM silver with red Mitsubishi diamonds. Some may want a manual transmission GSX, but a true DSM enthusiast knows the fuzzy logic automatic was the stronger transmission of the two. .check out a quarter mile run with an automatic GSX.
As the Fast and Furious franchise came and went, so did the clean examples of a DSM. Now is your chance to drive a two door EVO! Whoever does take possession of this rare icon of the 90s Japanese performance scene, please do take care of this special one and not mod it to the ground. :( John Davis from Motorweek once said: "So we"re glad to say, with this new Eclipse, Mitsubishi didn"t rest on its past laurels. With this new Eclipse they have produced a true second generation car, one that overshadows it predecessor in every way."
"What can we say, the Mitsubishi Eclipse the second time around is a serious drivers treat!"
