Vehicle description
1996 Mazda Miata M-edition for sale. Low miles and in excellent condition. One of only 3000 made this year and in this color.
Shortly after I purchased this vehicle I discovered that the air bag system was not working, previous owner jumped the air bag light to the charge light behind the dash, so the air bag light does come on with the key and goes out when the charge light goes out on start up. Air bag control units are a known problem with Miata and I believe the unit has been removed. So I decided to install a NRG Quick disconnect steering wheel. I have not raced or drifted this car, it is for looks only and to give you much improved leg room because the steering wheel is 3 inches closer, also much better then having a 22 year old air bag blow up in your face in case of an accident.
* * THE AIR BAG SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK AND HAS BEEN DISCONNECTED ON THIS VEHICLE * * (PASSENGER AIR BAG IS STILL INSTALLED)
It has new front and rear Koni racing beat struts with new rear springs, racing beat couldn"t get the front springs to match the rear so I used the factory springs in front but I have the front springs and will send with the vehicle, ride height is stock, has not been lowered. I also have the original steering wheel and un-deployed front air bag, will send with vehicle. It also has new wheel bearings in the front and rear, also has new rear axle/cv joints, not rebuilds, new. All fluids have been recently serviced, engine, trans, and differential, coolant.
FULL DIS-CLOSER, There is a slight transmission issue, it will clunk into 2nd gear once and while, most likely caused by worn synchronizer, it has never popped out of gear. I removed the power antenna because the mast kept breaking, i added a factory fixed mount with after market antenna. Also the radio volume button doesn"t always work, you have to play with it to work, needs repair or upgrade. Other than the air bag system not working and the transmission 2nd gear this miata is flawless and runs great.
Also, i recently serviced the air conditioner and it runs very cold. Heater also works good. All lights work properly and brake pads are only 3k miles old. Tires are like new. I can provide more pictures if you like but will only let me put 24 pictures.
I also have a current car fax that I can email, (note: car fax shows that the vehicle failed smog in 2016, this is when I first got the car and the battery was disconnected so when I took to get it smog it hadn"t gone through the ECU cycle yet, I drove it about 20 miles, came back and it passed smog just fine)
