Vehicle description
Very nice daily driver or ready to rig up! 204K miles, original LX450 drives very good, smooth shifting, no lockers.
Interior- extremely clean, carpet clean, seats solid with one section of driver"s minor tears, second row no tears but minor flaking, third-row near new except headrests missing, no dash cracks, faux wood around gear shift clean no cracks, all glass clean, all power works except driver"s seat needs the $5 plastic gear replaced, CD changer but no cartridge, no leaks, sunroof good, rear passenger door auto lock needs replaced. Even original carpet mats are clean but new husky liners are included.
Exterior desirable black with gray trim, one minor ding on roof (no roof rack), rims look new, tires near new, bumpers near scratch-free and minimal wear on paint- interior and exterior as good as can be expected for 25 yr old Cruiser.
Mechanical- engine starts quick and runs solid, no issues with transmission or any gears, OD or Power boost; however, DTC for 02 sensor occasionally pops (I"ve owned several of these and common as a cold) plus oil gauge light pops on and off- the oil sensor is loose- to fix you need to drop the oil pan. Does not burn oil but does have a power steering fluid leak believed to need a new hose. In November 2020, $1600 new rear brake system installed by Brake Check. Strong AC blows cold, battery installed early 2020. Normal wear and tear underneath with minor rust as to be expected. Car spent time in NC, NJ/NY and last 18 mos here in TX.
As-is sale, I"ve done my best to describe this in the most transparent way I can- please know what you are buying is a 25 year old, now collectible Cruiser/LX450 that will need tweaks and most are of buyer"s choosing or simply drive as is. If you expect a problem-free FJ80 under 10K don"t buy one because they don"t exist. I estimate you could put between 800-1800 in this and be rock-solid (mainly steering leak) or put in zero and just drive. I will answer any questions within 24 hours and can help coordinate shipping with a trusted shipper I have used several times. I have two of these, other being a "97 40th Anniversary Cruiser and my teenager daughters drive them- my oldest chose a college far away and moved her into a newer TLC and my youngest chose to move into the 40th as it had a new stereo and back-up camera (and because it"s a 40th Anniversary) freeing up this one for a new home.
