Vehicle description

1996 Honda Accord EX. 201k miles.
I have owned the car since 2012, and it has been nothing short of a phenomenal vehicle. I am selling it only because I"m in the process of starting a business of my own which requires the purchase of a pickup truck, and I need the space. Were it not for that reason, I would hold onto it indefinitely.
This Accord is in excellent running condition. The 5-speed manual transmission shifts flawlessly and the clutch is tight and smooth. It features the 2.2-liter V-TEC four, which provides plenty of power and excellent fuel mileage. Many parts have been recently replaced, including:
-clutch slave cylinder and master cylinder -A/C compressor -all new tires -EGR valve -brake lining -clutch replaced at approx. 180k miles -timing belt, tensioner, and water pump replaced at 170k miles. -ignition replaced at approximately 185k miles.
The car will, however, need some exhaust work- mainly a new pipe and catalytic converter. I was originally going to have the exhaust "straight-piped" and omit the converter, but such a configuation may cause issues in regions that require emissions testing. For that reason, I decided to sell as-is. Between working 2 jobs and owning several other vehicles, I simply haven"t had the time to have it repaired. Aside from that, the car is in excellent mechanical condition.
The exterior does have a few dents, scratches, and paint scuffs, but no more than you"d expect for a 25-year-old Honda. Although the car spent a portion of its life in the Pittsburgh area, it was originally titled in Georgia, and has been here in South Carolina since I moved down here in 2016. At that, it"s safe to consider it a Southern car. Cosmetic flaws aside, there is no "fender cancer" that"s common on most "90"s Honda"s.
There are a few other minor issues, including an electical glitch that causes the horn to sound when the power locks are activated (horn wires are touching lock wiring somewhere along the line; I bought the car in this condition). Also, someone attempted to steal the car a few years back, and the small metal lip dividing the door pillar from the window is missing, as a result of the would-be thief breaking it off (I haven"t had much luck finding a replacement one in the junk yard, but you can easily order one online). The ignition has also been replaced as a result of the theft attempt.
This Accord is solid and runs excellent, even being 25 years old with 200k miles. As I mentioned previously, I hate to part with the car, but I"m doing so only out of necessity. As someone who"s driven older "90"s Honda"s for many years, I can attest that the Accords in these years are easily some of the most solid and reliable ever built- encompassing all of the brand"s virtues. This "96 has the 5-speed manual with leather interior, which is a very rare find.
With proper care, this Honda will last you at least another 100k miles. It"s been predicted that fuel prices will be back on the rise soon, and with 30+ mpg, this would be excellent as a daily driver or even as a second vehicle. This Honda is well worth every dime of $2500. I set the price several hundred lower than that to allow for some TLC that it could use, and due to needing to sell in a timely manner.
