Vehicle description

* * * *If you have ever wanted a SUPER RARE SWB 1/2 ton DSL pickup then today is your lucky day! !* * * *
I’ll try to make this next part long story short as possible.
I bought this baby 17 years ago out of Florida via Copart.
I’ve always been a diesel fanatic, especially more rarer ones and I’m especially weak for one with a RED(BURGUNDY) color interior.
So anyways, I won it, had it shipped into me, and whenever it came in it cranked rt up and it literally ran/drove like a brand new truck and I drove it home that evening and from that day on I drove it almost every day, every other day for 9 year’s(I’ve always owned several vehicles so I never put a lot of miles on a certain one except for this one, I put 32k mls on it in the 9 year’s and to this day this truck is the vehicle that I’ve ever drove the most miles EVER! So it’s kinda sentimental to me for this reason alone.
Truck was sold as a flood damage truck BUT I’ll tell ya, I NEVER saw any signs of water ever being inside of it!
And it never had a water smell either!
Even to this day its interior is GORGEOUS! !
Back in 04 I swapped factory stereo out for a 1.5 din Pioneer CD stereo with remote(still has it) and through the year’s I’ve had numerous custom steering wheels on it, the one it has now is a new burgundy one that color matches its interior color.
And I’ve also had several different sets of custom wheels on it but now has original stock aluminum wheels on it(rt rear currently has spare tire on it, tire is bad on missing aluminum wheel).
So besides stereo, wheels, steering wheel(and now bed, will explain about bed below), truck is all stock/original!
Back in late 2013 I had it parked out in the street in front of my home and a neighbor lady who lives down the road ran in back of my truck on my way home and she was driving a brand new VW and it totaled out her VW and main damage to mine was its rear bumper, bumper and especially tow hitch SAVED my truck from MAJOR damage!
Original fleet side bed was fixable, it did kink up frame just a hair on right side(easiest frame pull ever needs to still be done), and basically that was only damage.
I immediately replaced rear bumper and that was all I did.
And then in 2015 it was starting to die out at times and I Googled symptom and read where it was its PMD module. Truck would always start rt up immediately after it cooled down for like 10 minutes.
Sooooo, I bought a new PMD module off of eBay(I asked seller if all PMD’s were the same/interchangeable, he said yes).
So I read online where it was HARD to do but u had to unplug original PMD module where original one mounts on block(which u could never plug back in without taking intake off) so I did everything exactly as I read what to do, then it’s recommended one buys an extension harness with a chiller and then u relocate new PMD to another location, all seemed easy to do so I did ALL of this after my new $185 PMD came in, I shut my hood after connecting/mounting new PMD assuming it was good to go BUT it NEVER started again? ?! !
Again, with old/original PMD it always started but was starting to die at x’s.
So I was STUMPED!
So it sat for a couple of years and I then I had/went through some health problems and didn’t do anything with it and my buddy in Austin Tx had always liked it, wanted it so I sold it to him in late 2017.
He somehow figured out that not all PMD module’s are the same and somehow he bought the correct PMD module for it and it started right up(he sent me a video of him driving it for the first x and he was on his way to put fresh diesel into it after draining old fuel out from sitting).
He loves sport side beds and he always wanted to make it even more rare with a sport side bed so he pd $1,000 for a perfect one(this was in 2018).
And then shortly after this he came into some $$$(like a lot of $$$) and he bought 3 new $70 grand vehicles and he parked this at a storage center and was paying like $125 per month to store it there for a few year’s and finally he decided to sell it and he gave me first shot at it and I jumped all over it!
Someone had stole its new batteries he had put in it and he told me it will need new battery cables too.
Also, he had had a lifetime warranty new starter put into it so this is another plus!
At the moment it’s at a mechanic shop I use.
He’s been swamped since truck got to his place and I just sent over 2 truck’s I need fixed before this one(one, a Hummer H3T I’m excited about that I just bought needs its motor replaced so I don’t knew when this baby will be touched)!
I PROMISE u its motor is PERFECT, runs PERFECTLY! !
And with only 159k miles this 6.5 is just getting broken in!
ZERO blow by air anything negative running wise and trans has always felt perfect too!
It’s a NO BRAINER deal at only $3,350!
I just hate to c it sitting again!
And if u don’t know 96-up 6.5’s are nothing like pre 1996 year 6.5’s(r totally different motor’s).
$3,350 is FIRM, is SOLD AS IS, CLEAR TITLE IS STILL IN MY PERSONAL NAME.
Can recommend a fast reasonably priced auto transporter if needed.
