Vehicle description
My 1996 993 Cabriolet. 68,338 miles - I drove it this weekend, so mileage could change a little but not much.
Fewer than 10k on the professionally rebuilt/improved engine, but enough for comfort in the rebuild (the rebuild means no concerns with the valve rod guides/secondary air system, which is the biggest potential issue with these amazing last-of-the-air-cooled cars, if you do a little research). Polar Silver on Classic Grey interior Manual transmission Engine blueprinted and rebuilt in 2015 with everyday performance and longevity-focused upgrades, advised and executed by Porsche experts Bob Hindson Racing (http:/ bhrkc.com/), highlights include: Custom ECU by Promotive, new DME (in addition to better fueling, another positive byproduct is that the immobilizer issue goes away); Adjustible Bilstein coilover suspension (it looks lower in pictures than it does to my eye in real life - the current setup significantly dials down understeer, especially if you know how to drive a Pcar that doesn"t have electronic nanny aids. It does not scrape on the speed bumps in my office garage); Fabspeed exhaust and tips - great pure sound without drone; 15" Brembo GT-R brakes - we put a surprising amount of thought into what color brake calipers, and ended up referencing the car"s color, rather than red or yellow, which "mean" specific things in Porsche speak; Lightweight flywheel and RS clutch (more people should do the flywheel IMHO; makes a huge difference matching revs heel/toe); Custom CCW wheels (no dings (!)); Billet silver instrument dial surrounds via Rennlist; Rennline aluminum pedals; Wiring harness restoration/streamline; Distributor rebuild; The cab top operating mechanism, as well as the cab top liner, were just replaced. The cab top boot cover is light grey.
Air conditioning is fully functional.
Tires and brake pads are in great shape. For the right buyer I will throw in: Billet Rennline fire extinguisher mount and extinguisher (never installed); Apple phone music connector; Spare DME relay; Hardwired battery charger. BHR has performed all services, and can weigh in on PPI. I am happy to provide records and CarFax. CarFax reports no accidents. I bought the car with what looked like a crack in the clearcoat on the rear bumper, and also on the rear central light (the wide red one). I used insurance to assist with paying for replace/repaint with OEM parts at the end of 2016, which CarFax reports as "damage reported". Thank you for looking. I can"t think of any other disclosure issues, but I will field all questions and requests. She"s not been on the track. Free local pickup. Delivery can be arranged at buyer expense, and provided payment.
