Vehicle description
I bought this as a project car for myself but my health pretty much keeps me from working on it. The guy I bought it off of started to take it a part to put a paint job on it, but lost interest. You can obviously see the primer spots on the car in the pictures. The guy I bought the car off of said he was fixing small dents and scratches in the paint. He was not doing rust repair.
He also bought new front and rear bumper covers. All the parts are there to reassemble the car.
It doesn"t come with hubcaps, but the tires are in real nice condition. Lots and lots of miles left on them. There is a crack in the windshield, but the windshield doesn"t necessarily need to be replaced. The crack isn"t in the line of sight. The convertible top is in nice condition. One small rip about an inch long.
The car starts, runs and drives. The engine runs good with no strange noises.
Here’s what I know is for sure is wrong with the car. The exhaust has leaks, but it’s not horrible. It needs a heater core. The heater core is bypassed right now to keep the interior of the car filling up with steam while driving. The interior is not horrible but it’s not good either. It needs a good cleaning and has a few burn holes. The power front passenger window does not go down. When you hit the button you hear the motor humming but it doesn’t move. Maybe there"s a mechanical issue with the track? The guy I bought the car off of said when it was sitting out on the street in front of his house someone got into the car and stole a bunch of the relays out of the fuse box. I noticed the radio, heat and a/c blower motor, fuel gauge, electric cooling fan, temperature gauge all don"t work. Maybe has something to do with the relays missing? The car has some sort of factory alarm that still works. The body is solid with the exception of both of the bottoms of the front fenders behind the tires.
I"ve been told by other Volkswagen enthusists this factory puple exterior color is rare. Feel free to ask questions. The car is located in Romeo, Michigan. if you’re close feel free to come look at it. Even if you’re not close feel free to come look at. To sum it up this car needs the headlights and front and rear bumpers re-installed and a few electrical issues worked out and this car can be a daily driver. Just in case you missed it this car comes with brand new front and rear bumper covers. I believe those cost around $200 each. Car is being sold "AS IS" as a project car. No returns or refunds. Maybe you"ve noticed this car has been listed before. I"ve listed this car on a few other occasions and it always sells. Someone sends me an offer, and I may counter offer, but the car always sells, but the buyer on a few occasions now has not paid for the car. Please do not buy this car if you don"t paln on paying for it.
