1995 Oldsmobile Silhouette. The good: vintage 1990"s style. Seats 7. Reliable. Good tires. New brakes. New fuel pump. The back 5 seats can be removed, so lots of cargo room. V6 with a 4 speed auto trans, so decent gas mileage. The bad: Passenger door only opens from inside. Temperature setting gets stuck on the hot setting sometimes (ok in the winter, but the summer. .what a bitch), previous owner left the side windows open for 3 months while traveling over the road. Being a Georgia car, it got wet when it rained. So, there is a musty smell that needs to be aired out. I have cleaned the carpets and the seats, but still need to air out to get rid of it. With all the rain we have had over the last 6 months, I"ve had to keep the windows up. The A/C does not work. Needs recharge? ? Don"t know. Don"t use air, so didn"t care when I bought it. The drivers side airbag does not work. The indicator light is on in the instrument cluster. The Ugly: It"s a 90"s Oldsmobile Silhouette. You either think they"re pretty, or ugly, or pretty ugly. The headliner was replaced, and is sagging a little in spots. AM/FM CASSETTE player. Yes, cassette player. And yes, it does work. Power windows work, but the passenger one is a little slow. This thing has it"s quirks, minor leaks and creeks, but overall a good van. The previous owner had it about 10 years and never changed the plugs or wires. I have not either. I have kept the oil changed every 5000 miles and changed the trans fluid and filter at 195,000 miles. Pick up only in N.C., or you can arrange pick up by a private carrier.
