1995 Nissan 240SX with JDM Nissan Silvia S15 Spec-R full drivetrain swap, cooling fan to rear hubs. This car has the entire drivetrain from one 2001 JDM vehicle. It has the Spec-R"s SR20DET engine, 6 speed manual transmission, and helical limited slip differential. The chassis has 235k miles on it. The drivetrain had 40k miles on it when I imported it. I put an additional 27k miles on it since the 2015 swap. This car has been my daily driver for my eleven mile commute since 2015. The engine has only ever had Amsoil full synthetic oil and filters in it. The A/C & heat are strong.
The only mechanical failure I have had at all was a boost leak on one of the silicone intercooler sleeves. I cannot overstate how reliable this car has been. I would not hesitate to head out across the country in this car. The car has been kept in a fitted, color matched car cover. There is trim around the driver door that is coming up. The paintjob is six coats of Bayside Blue, one of the factory Skyline blues, but this color has never been offered on a US Nissan vehicle. The driver door has a crack in the armrest. It is shown in one of the pictures. The car has new Pirelli P-Zero tires (1K miles).
The only things that do not work properly on this car are the speedometer, the power mirrors, and the bright/dim headlight stalk. The speed sensor signal needs to be converted before it gets to the SR20DET ECU. I have the converter unit needed for this; however I have not installed it. I will provide the needed Dakota Digital Converter and instructions in this sale. The power mirrors did not work when the car came back from the powertrain swap. I expect there is a wire off of the switch, but I never cared enough to check it. The left steering column stalk that you move forward for bright lights and backward for dim moves freely. It doesn"t snap into position, but sits where you put it. It is a $55 part that Nissan still sells, but again, it doesn"t bother me enough to change it.
The exhaust has been upgraded to a 3" stainless steel Megan Racing system from the header back. No cats. The turbo venting is recirculated, which is easier on the bearings. The blow-off valve release turns heads on the sidewalk. The large Garrett ball bearing turbo currently runs at 14.5lbs of boost. The engine was factory rated at 250 horsepower, but with the large, front mounted intercooler, larger turbo, high capacity injectors, race grade high pressure fuel pump, large exhaust without cats, and higher boost pressure, this car has a good deal more power than that.
I also have 2 sets of custom-fit Silvia embroidered floor mats to go with the car.
This is a great car. Her name is Lerlene, but you can change that. My son got a Mini Cooper S, and loves it, so I got one. now I have too many license plates and insurance policies to pay for. I know I"m going to be sick after I sell her, but she has to go.
