Vehicle description
Up for sale is a 1995 Range Rover Classic. This is a highly coveted Short Wheel Base (SWB) model and a County edition featuring a more-plush interior standard.
This rust-free car has lived in the Southern United States for all of its life. I brought it up to New York in October 2020 and registered it.
The new engine has less than 13k miles on it. The exterior is flawless. The body has ~197k miles on it with absolutely no rust - surface or frame. This is *rare* in RRCs and borderline unimaginable in the North East.
I have a clean New York title in hand.
In New York, as a pre-1996 vehicle, you do not need to do an emissions inspection.
In October 2015, the engine was replaced by an extremely talented mechanic in the south who replaced the engine brackets as well as swapped in a well-known, extremely reliable 3.9L Land Rover Short-Block engine (https:/ www.roverparts.com/engine/short-block-engines/9257RK/). Again, the new engine has less than 13k miles on it.
When the engine was replaced, so was the fuel pump, cylinder head gaskets, crank shaft oil seals, heater hoses, radiator hoses, spark plugs, engine timing/front cover gasket, and water pump gasket. The A/C refrigerant was also recharged - it blows very cold.
In February 2020, all of the fluids were changed alongside the filters, and the differentials were serviced.
In August 2020, a new battery was put in and the exhaust was completely replaced as well.
As a result of all of the above, this Range Rover is mechanically flawless.
A complete CarFax history will show you the car has spent its life between North & South Carolina with no Structural Damage, Airbag Deployments, or Vehicle Damage. It’s reported that the vehicle was in a small accident in 2003 toward the front end of the vehicle. It also reports the vehicle was not damaged. Numerous inspections have confirmed this. There is evidence of a potential odometer rollback from 164,336 miles to 154,543 miles.
As with every Range Rover Classic, there are a number of electrical issues. While tedious, none of them render the vehicle un-drivable. I still daily this car.
I have extensive service records, receipts, and the CarFax report. Feel free to reach out with any questions.
The known problems are: — Electrical — - Instrument Cluster - Fuel gauge & speedometer don"t work. - The Odometer (Mileage) works just fine. - The front seats have seized and don"t move. - The seats can be moved with a standard drill into a new position. - They lock into place. - Rear windows are inoperable. - Miscellaneous buttons (Cruise Control, etc.) - Rewire the A/C on the correct side of the circuit. I had to soft-wire it because the previous owner installed it such that it drains the battery when wired (even if in the off position). - Locks are operable but uncooperative.
—Cosmetic— - There’s slight tearing to driver’s seat, and slight wear on the passenger seats and bench. - The previous owner purchased neoprene seat covers from Wet Okole Hawaii. - They’re Nylon Coated Neoprene. - Pros: They can withstand abuse. Con: I don’t love the way they look. - Install new headliner. I have it, just need to put it on. - There is no Spare Tire.
