Vehicle description

Beautifully patina"d Grand Cherokee. This is a wonderful opportunity for a son/daughter/father restoration. This was my daily driver, 50 miles a day, until the pandemic hit and began working from home. Drive train is all original. Spaceship mileage, over 402,000 miles! To put that into perspective, it has traveled to the moon, and is on it"s return trip to Earth. All she needs is for someone BRAVE enough to bring her in for re-entry:) The 4.0 engine runs perfect. Most all of the maintenance has been done by me, for the last 25 years. Obviously, it was well maintained, or it wouldn"t not have lasted this long. Spark plugs come out dry, with no indication of valve seal or ring deterioration. I have every bit of confidence the engine will go to 500,000. The 42RE transmission still shifts through all gears, however, 2nd gear slips. It could be just a matter of adjusting the second gear band, but I didn"t want to take the chance. I have been driving it like that for 2 years, roughly 20,000 miles. The sale of the Jeep comes with a very nice hard parts kit for the transmission to do a quality rebuild. The 249J Quadra-trac transfer case works also, but is showing it"s age. Currently it is really best for short trips. In the Texas heat, after driving for a period of time, when you pull into a parking lot, it acts like it is in 4 low, due to the viscous-coupler fluid and discs deteriorating. So whenever the trans gets rebuilt, the transfer case should be as well, since they both would be coming out together. It passes safety and smog every year. Now it is 25 years old, smog is no longer required, so if you are a good fabricator. .Hellcat motor?Interior is clean, but driver seat is aged as you would imagine and the headliner needs done, again(this would be the third time). It has a CB, although the CB itself no longer works, so it is wired for it. Has a Kenwood, bluetooth stereo, original speakers. Has the Up-Country suspension on it from the factory, it sits an inch higher than other 4x4 ZJ"s, has skids plates under the radiator, transfer case, and fuel tank, as well as tow hooks.Overall it has been a great, reliable vehicle that has taken us everywhere and through all terrain. I would love to see someone take it and restore it. I would myself, however, one project in the garage is too much apparently!:) All receipts and records from the last 25 years including original window sticker.
