Vehicle description
1995 Jaguar XJR This is the classic Jaguar you will want to own and drive in understated elegance for years to come. Built after the Ford takeover for small improvements in reliability and electronics but still retains both the classic XJ platform (rather than cheaper Mondeo/Contour based versions), and the classic Jaguar DOHC in-line 6 cylinder engine before Ford moved to V8 power which is both harder to work on and just not the same classic powerplant. Also the first factory forced induction on a regular production Jaguar with a Rootes type supercharger powering the dependable AJ16 engine, makes this both dependable and powerful with around 325 HP and 385 lb/ft of torque. You can cruise comfortable and sedately all day long, or you can put your right foot down and grin from ear to ear. The ultimate comfortable sleeper. You will enjoy it. Don"t miss your chance. These were only offered for a couple years in fairly low production. These can be hard to come by and you will definitely regret missing out once the price starts to climb and you cannot find another. This West coast example has a solid body without any rust visible underneath. The dependable and smooth in-line 6 cylinder Jaguar engine, the upgraded GM 4L80E transmission that everyone wishes was in their Jag, and a comfortable leather interior only showing little signs of wear with that dark wood interior only available on the R type. Drawbacks include: cruise control not working since module is disconnected. This gives a traction control fault on dash. It was inhibiting acceleration for some reason, which may be its module or just need proper routing of CC cable. Gas gauge is not working due to a faulty sending unit. Air conditioning is not working due to AC belt not connected. This would need a new belt and likely recharge but I have never used it. Headliner sags slightly above rear seat. Front passenger fender has damage behind headlight. Replacement fender is included and should bolt right on but will need to be paint matched. XJS BBS mesh look wheels fitted since I traded with a friend who wanted the originals for his XJS and I think the more comfortable ride with the taller sidewall suits this elegant sedan. Clock display losing its look as common on these. Good running and dependable. Throttle body just cleaned for immediate pedal response. Electronics all in good shape aside from couple little issues noted above. Alternator just replaced. Solid body despite a couple dings visible in pics. Some suspension bushings and brakes replaced giving a better ride. Elegant interior in good shape. CD changer present in trunk but I haven"t used it. Paint is in decent shape and the clear coat is not failed like on many examples. This is your chance to obtain a solid, affordable example of this supercharged true Jaguar before it is too late. I know I will regret selling but tuition payments are quickly coming due. Good luck and Happy bidding. Fine print: Your bid is a binding contract, please treat it as such.
