I bought this SHO in June 2014 from an elderly couple whowere the original owners. The car wasoriginally purchased new from Burns Ford in Huntington, NY (do not know if theystill exist). When I purchased it, ithad 114,3xx miles on it and it was rough. I don’t think it was abused and there was evidence that it had been regularlyserviced, but it looked like it was mostly not garaged. I immediately rebuilt the transmission,replaced the steering rack, power steering pump, repaired several engine oilleaks, all new brakes, rebuilt the front end, new struts, new fuel tank andfuel pump, new water pump, all new hoses, usual complete service (plugs, cambelt, idlers and tensioners, filters, etc.), new radiator, new AC condenser andhoses, rebuilt the AC compressor, new exhaust system and some minor bodywork. Over the years I have added thefollowing: Gen 3 subframe and front suspension upgrade BG springs SACHS shocks SHO Source big brakes w/12” front rotors Russells brake lines Strut tower brace SHO Source big bore secondary throttle valves Transmission oil tempsensor and gauge Wide-band o2 sensor and gauge New cat converters and o2 sensors Subframe connectors Rear suspension “H” brace Ingalls adjustable rear control arms Powergrid adjustable rear anti-roll bar end links Most recently I refurbished the rear spindles to include newtension rod bushings, new hubs and bearings, new ABS sensors, new brake padsand rotors (again), new parking brake cables and rebuilt rear Centric coatedcalipers. Over the years I have done some necessary body and paintrepairs to treat minor rust and chip damage and to address some old paintissues. About half the car still has itsoriginal paint. This is not a nut-and-bolt restored car, but it is a goodsolid driver. You can see from thepictures that it is in nice shape. Everything on this car works … automatic temp control heat and AC, powermirrors, moon roof, original JLB premium sound system radio, tape deck, CD andpower antenna, power mirrors work, intermittent wipers work, automaticheadlights and cornering lamps, fog lights, trunk release, power seats … it allworks.
