Vehicle description

I’m selling my 1995 Ford Bronco 4x4 with a 351 Windsor and 229,000 miles. It runs and drives well and has been my baby for almost 20 years. I’d keep it forever, but I have one too many horses in the stable. I’m the second owner. It was my daily driver for years and eventually became my weekend errand truck when we added another truck to the family. It’d make a great weekend/errand truck, beater, or the foundation for a project truck if someone wants to restore/customize it. It’s a classic!
The good: •It runs/drives well. No known major engine or transmission issues. •All brake components were replaced about 5K miles ago. •The back window still works! •The tires (31”x10.5” BFG Mud Terrain) only have about 2K miles on them. •Aluminum wheels. •Bushwacker fender flares. •Manual 4WD locking hubs. •It has never been smoked in. •The passenger and rear seats are in good condition. The rear seat’s fold-away feature works smoothly. •The heater and fan work well.
The bad (full disclosure of all significant known issues): •The AC does not work. It faded out a couple of years ago. It may only need a recharge, but I never tried fixing it since I like driving around with the windows down. •It drips oil. Not so much that you need to add oil between changes but enough that it’ll leave drops on/in your driveway/garage if you don"t have something under it. •The recline hinge/mechanism is shot on the driver’s seat, so it has to be propped by something in the back (I’ve used a piece of plywood wedged against it, causing some tears in the back of the seat). It works for me. •The rubber casing on the battery cable that runs down to the starter has a crack in it. It doesn’t cause any issues except for when it occasionally/rarely moves and comes into metal-on-metal contact with the engine block, which doesn’t allow it to crank. A simple wiggle of the wire solves that whenever it happens. It’s never been a big enough annoyance for me to bother changing it. I consider it a theft-deterrent system (no extra charge for that). •The fuel pump has briefly stopped working a total of three times in the almost-20 years I’ve owned the truck. Each time was on a long (several-hour) drive, and each time it started again after resting for a bit. I mostly only drive it around town (short trips), so I never bothered to change it. •The radio doesn’t work. I’m pretty sure it’s just the fuse on the back of the unit, but if it’s not, it may need a new, state-of-the-art AM/FM cassette player.
The ugly: •There is some light surface rust on the chassis underneath, but nothing that would cause structural or mechanical issues. Some body panels near the rear (mostly the tailgate and wheel wells) have rust. I treated the spots with some rust-stop and then painted over them few years ago. It seems to have stopped it from progressing (though the paint isn’t an exact match). •It’s a 25-year old truck that has been used for camping and running errands, so the paint is far from perfect. It looks decent from afar, but you’re not going to win a prize for fit and finish at a car show. •The driver’s seat has some tears on the seating surface (from 25 years of use) and in the back (from the aforementioned propping up - see pictures). •The dash has a crack in it. Also, the bracket that secures it on the passenger side broke several years ago (a common issue), so it rattles a bit on rough roads. I have a metal replacement bracket that I never installed. It’s yours with the truck if I can find it (and they’re only a few dollars if I can’t). •I removed some of the interior panels in the rear years ago (see pictures). I think I have most of the pieces, but I can’t guarantee some aren’t missing. •A neighbor backed into it on the street and dented the driver side where the door meets the rear. The damage is only cosmetic (no impact on door functions). See pictures.
