This 1994 Mercedes-Benz 230GE G-Wagon Convertible is an ex- Swiss military vehicle imported from Europe to the United States in 2021 ( VIN #: VAG46121717910785 ). This particular version of the MB Gelandewagen offered here was never available to civilians. While the consumer market did receive several types of their own, none of them can match the rugged simplicity of the 230GE LWB equipped with the sturdy 2.3 liter fuel injected 4 cylinder motor, 4 speed automatic gearbox and the characteristic canvas top.
This 1994 MB 230GE was originally outfitted strictly for military use and is still one of the best performing off-road machines available. It’s light, nimble and equipped with the essentials and none of the fluff. It comes with a complete set of books and maintenance done during it’s years of service in the military. All of the maintenance was done on base, by a team of mechanics trained by MB.
This restoration started with a meticulously maintained unit free of rust or any damage. All of the the work was done by a European shop specializing in MB restorations. Starting at the ground level, the undercarriage received a full anti-corrosion treatment ensuring many years of rust-free operation, all new suspension components replace the tired original setup for a superior drive quality and comfort. All of the body trim are original components restored to like new condition. The body was painted flat Gobi. Under the hood, the engine and transmission are the original units. They were both disassembled, received all the appropriate checks, and updated components throughout. Interior like the rest of the vehicle was stripped down, protected, and updated.
