car runs and drives. shifts are smooth. i would drive this 80 miles round trip to my job on occasion, but i didn"t renew the registration for this year. i let it sit the last couple of months in my garage. i took it around the block, it drove fine, then developed a misfire (8-15-2021).
i love this car. i drive it sporadically, but it should be gone thru by a rotary specialist to get out any kinks these cars are known to have.previous to me owning it, the car had sat for "a couple of years". i had the fuel tank drained and went through all the basics to get it road worthy again, back in 2018. i doubt it"s actual mileage, but that"s what the gauge shows. currently 23,512, and may go up. i don"t think the car needs this, but a full engine seal rebuild w/ new turbos is $3100 at cam imports (i got this quote in 2018. .priced it out before i got the fuel tank all cleaned up). Cam imports is/are the best rx7 shop in the USA. if you"re local, you are welcome to bring someone and do a compression test. i am not a rotary guy. car has been perfect for me, until i let it sit. All lights work. Coolant light comes on, it"s an issue with the top level sensor. This car does not lose coolant.
PROS: *1994, #600.*no rust (Florida car). *$200 gauge cluster carbon fiber cover. *new front tires. *air seperator delete. car cools much better. *new 3-core aluminum radiator with 2 new electric fans. *fd3s manual 5 speed rx7 *sits on new full adjustable coilovers *has the 99+ wing *carbon fiber gauge cover *sits on stock staggered 16" rims/tires. all are good, with brand new front tires, rear tires have decent tread
* i also have the original headlights with motors, brackets, and the buckets. just missing 1 of the lid covers.
CONS: *developed a misfire that comes and goes. This started after i let it sit for a couple of months. *rebuilt title. history report shows 1 accident (before i owned the car). *A/C needs a condenser for the front and a new dryer, or re-use the dryer i have on-hand. Everything is there for A/C minus a condenser. *need to redo the seats. i had the plans to recover them in a wild pattern, but work gets in the way.
PAYMENT: cash on pickup or a cleared bank check.
DEPOSIT: that"s for nickel and diming me and those fun listing fees.
Notes: i expect this car to do around 28K, given it"s title and the current misfire (compared to what"s on eBay, from 50K to 90K). we"ll see if i"m right, or frikken nuts. even with an engine seal rebuild, you"re into a FD3S for around $20,000 less than they"re being listed at. : )
