Up for sale is my 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee that I have been restoring for nearly two months. I bought this from the family of the original owner who bought the Jeep new in Georgia. The original window sticker is in the glove box. At some point in time the transmission started to fail and the Jeep was parked. I estimate around 2001 to 2003. Attempts to get the transmission repaired over the years didn"t happen but the previous owner did replace the fuel pump because of it sitting. Also the Jeep use to have window guards installed. The previous owner had left the window cracked down but instead it ruined the headliner with moisture and mold. And to top it off, they found a small squirrel living in the engine compartment for a few months. The squirrel chewed some of the wiring not allowing the Jeep to run anymore. Hence the long time of sitting. I bought the Jeep and started replacing nearly most of the wear items and fixing the wiring.
The following items have been replaced
Please watch my YouTube Video for every detail of this Jeep
Originally I had this listed for $7,000 That is how much all the parts and purchase of the Jeep cost. But due to my other project being purchased, I have significantly lowered my asking price.
New Tires New Battery New Radiator New AC Compressor New Water Pump New MAP Sensor New Coil New Fuel Pressure Regulator New IAC Idle Motor New Coolant and Washer Level Sensors New Air Filter New Oil Change with Filter Rebuilt Transmission New Front Brake Pads New Front Brake Rotors New Front Brake Calipers New Front Shocks New Front Sway-bar End Links New Steering Stabilizer New Rear Brake Shoes New Rear Brake Wheel Cylinders New Mopar Catalytic Converter New Radio and Door Speakers New Headlights, Marker Lights, Turn Signal Lights and New Bulbs New Grill
Headliner has been replaced and the overhead console readout replaced with working unit. The Vehicle Information Center (VIC) very common for failing has been replaced and one capacitor replaced. The wiper Delay module also had the capacitors replaced. New Keyless Entry system installed.
It does have some quirks with 2 being important to note to the new owner.
1. It has a very weird hot start rough idling issue after sitting for 30 minutes or longer if the Jeep has been driven for long periods of time. It will go away after a minute or so on its own and or with revving it up and then proceeding on with driving it. If the Jeep has sat for over an hour it doesn"t do it. If the Jeep has sat overnight it starts perfectly fine. If the Jeep sits for days, it will start just perfectly fine. Like I said it is weird. A google search for 5.2 V8 you will find other owners with the same issue. Some call it a heatsoak issue. I disagree but I have explained it further in detail with the video link attached to this listing.
2. There is some drivetrain noise that comes from the transfer case area at 65mph until 72 wish mph. When I bought the Jeep the front driveshaft was removed. This is a coming Grand Cherokee thing to do. But I prefer to have everything hooked up. The 4 wheel drive system does work just fine. It is just this specific noise that needs to be noted.
Another quirk to mention in the listing is a clicking noise that comes sometimes from the front diff area or cv axle. When backing up and or while turning the wheel. This is noted in the video as well
I drive this Jeep daily. I have enjoyed every bit of the restoration processes with my son. I have personally put over 1300 miles manly days driving 3 hours total to my job sites and back. But we have a rare small opportunity for another crazy project. I cannot make this other project happen without selling this Jeep.
What I am listing this Jeep for is exactly what I have in it. Parts are extremely expensive right now due to the pandemic.
I have the title free and clear in my name ready for the new owner.
The Jeep is being sold AS IS with no warranty.
The Jeep is located in Simpsonville, South Carolina Zip 29680. If you have any additional questions feel free to contact me at 864-616-0316.
