Vehicle description

I have owned this 1994 Honda Civic Vx since 2009. The previous owner told me that it was a southern car that he had yet to drive in the winter. His claim was a believable since it was nearly rust-free at the time even though it had around 208k miles on it. Before driving it for any winter in Michigan, I took the car to be undercoated. As can be seen in the pictures, the undercoating did its job on some parts of the car and not others.
When I bought the car, it was stock except for having an aftermarket radio and speakers. The radio in it now is from a ‘95 Civic. It works great as does the cassette player. It still retains the aftermarket speakers in the doors.
The paint color is Aztec Green Pearl. From what I can tell, the paint and body panels are original except for the driver’s door and fuel filler door. The driver"s door is painted white on the inside. Also, the driver’s door hinges have been replaced with those from a black car.
In early 2013, all transmission bearings were replaced with OEM parts after a differential bearing started to make noise. With the engine out, the timing belt and components were inspected. They still looked brand new and were not replaced. The clutch was not worn significantly but it was replaced anyway with a Sachs clutch kit. This is estimated to be around the 240k mile mark.
Oil has been changed at 5000 mile intervals and comes out an amber brown color. In other words, it’s still relatively clean when changed. It does have a small oil leak coming from the engine. It’s small enough were you must park in the same spot over and over to let it accumulate to see it. No oil needs to be added between oil changes.
There are some other known issues that are hard to see in the pictures. The airbags and horn do not work. I suspect it’s because of the clock spring in the steering column. One of the boots on the steering rack is torn. The windshield has some surface scratches—likely from something abrasive embedded in the wiper. The scratches can be seen in the front view. I think that is it.
This car has been very reliable and I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. I’ve recorded a maximum of 65 mpg on a tank of gas after driving a long distance around 55 mph. Usually, it gets around 43 mpg with the daily city-driving commute.
