Up for auction is a big block 1994 GMC Sierra K3500 crew cab dually. This big bodied GMC looks stunning finished in Indigo Metallic Blue with Silver. Not many of these 90s era GM trucks were equipped as well as this one, there wasn"t an option you could order that could outperform this truck. The big block 454 v8 has been a motor used by General motors for decades prior to 1994. By the nineties it had evolved into the most powerful and efficient version of itself and not too long after it was replaced with the modular LS motors GM uses today. This trucks marks a point in GM history where one its most iconic motors reached its peak. This coincides with the introduction of another option, the NV4500 5 speed manual transmission. This transmission is a fantastic truck transmission commonly sought after and swapped into trucks with inferior transmissions. The NV4500 is a heavy duty piece, and the 5 speeds makes driving a big block full size rig much more enjoyable experience. These trucks are very capable rigs and got used and abused. This makes it hard to find them in decent condition today as they"re beginning to be considered classic trucks. They mark the end of the line for an era of General Motors trucks. This era is a perfect combination of older truck simplicity and capability with the modern drivability"s and comfort. As history has dictated these 90s era trucks will continue to go up in value; they are arguably some of the most stylish GM trucks along with the most capable of a bygone era of big heavy duty big block duallies when trucks were actually trucks. Not like the trucks today that are overly plastic, crew cabs with beds that cant even fit a bicycle and have too much electronics and sensors with so much built in obsolescence made to break.
Cosmetically this truck is in good shape. Most importantly the body is straight and free of any rust issues. The Inidigo Blue and Silver is a great color combination for a crew cab dually of this vintage. The original paint is still very much visible and shiny. However like many other GM vehicles from the 80s and 90s the clearcoat have a propensity to peel off and this truck is no exception. There are are some areas where the previous owner recleared in an effort to protect the original paint. Worst part cosmetically is the passenger rear fender has a crack in it and the tailgate has a dent. Overall it is a solid 26 year old truck.
Step Inside this crew cab and your stepping back to 1994. The interior is in fantastic shape. The original blue velour seats are vibrant and have no rips or tears. The headliner is intake as well as the light still operating. The drivers seat is a little loose. All of the door panels look great. The dash looks good. All of the gauges are functional. Everything is in working condition . Many of these trucks got abused and the interiors thrashed. This is not one of those trucks the interior is in great shape front and rear.
Mechanically this truck is a comfortable cruiser and capable workhorse. This truck has the perfect combination of options for a full sized crew cab dually. The fuel injected 454cid V8 motor is a fabulous motor that has been evolving for decades prior. This 454 TBI fires up and runs great. Does not overheat or have any weird noises. The truck has some nice Doug Thorley Headers to enhance the flow and sound. The NV4500 5 speed transmission is one of the more sought after heavy duty truck transmissions. It shifts smooth in all gears and is a perfect combination for the 454. All the brakes work. All the lights work.
