Vehicle description
About this vehicle This 1994 Geo Prizm is an original. The owner has had it for 1 year. The vehicle is drivable and is used as a daily driver. Seller"s Notes Insurance is inexpensive. Nice ride. Vehicle Details The Geo Prizm EV was produced as a glider in 1993 by General Motors (NUMI plant (now Tesla) in Fremont, CA) and sold to U.S. ElectriCar corp who installed the electric drivetrain at their factory near Los Angeles, CA. Today the car gets around 25 miles range on a fresh pack of (cheap) lead-acid batteries, which I installed in my garage in February 2020. The car was previously used as a fleet vehicle for Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. It serviced the Pomona area and has a lot of the trips the car made for its first few thousand miles. It is featured in a segment on YouTube herehttps:/ youtu.be/dJv4jdRR0R0 I bought the car in non-working condition, and made it roadworthy again with 4 new tires, a wheel alignment, new potentiometers (for the electric acceleration) and a new set of lead acid batteries. I have been driving the car for a year now and have put less than 1,000 miles on it. It’s low center of gravity is a lot of fun to drive. I got the custom OG EV plates from the DMV and people are always interested and asking questions. The car has been temperamental lately. Sometimes it starts fine and will drive normally. Other times the “ready” and “fault” lights are blinking, Indicating an error with the system. This is a project for someone else. I’m ready to move on from this car. The car charges overnight using a standard 110 v home outlet and extension cord. It takes 12 hours to charge from empty. The car could be modified with a J1772 port fairly easily if wanted. I have all the manuals, software and a windows 98/ MS Dos laptop needed to interface with the car. All are included. I’ve included pictures of the battery tray. * if you want the car without the lead acid batteries let me know. I can’t remove them. They are worth $2250 brand new and have less than 200 charge cycles on them. * OG EV plates are not included This is a museum piece. Exterior Interior Low miles. Very clean interior. Seatbelts for 4.
