1994 Ford Lightning F-150 Pickup Truck
This hard to find truck is driver quality but makes a great appearance as you can tell from the photos. The best part about this truck is it is ready to run and it runs fantastic! It is a true 1994 Lightning with most Lightning accessories still present on the truck - motor, intake, wheels, seats, other misc. trim. Please continue reading the description below for a detailed analysis of the truck.
Exterior: The truck has had an amateur repaint likely 12 years ago per the previous owner. Whoever painted the truck didn"t fix any little dents or blemishes and did not color sand and buff the finished product. The truck makes a really nice appearance from about 10 feet, once you take a close look you will see some orange peel, scratches, some chips near panel gaps and other minor blemishes. I am sure the truck could be sanded and buffed to make it look a little shinier. Someone also replaced the bedsides. The truck has a brand new front windshield, and the rest of the glass is in good shape, the drivers side window has a few scratches. The inside of the bed has had a spray in liner which was done nicely. The rubbers around the window are in ok shape, with some cracking and hardening of a few sections. New front valance with fog lights.
Interior: Inside the truck, besides the original carpet, its in pretty good shape. The original Lightning seats are in good shape, no tears or rips, the headliner is in fine shape, the instrument cluster is in good shape, gauges all work. The steering wheel has some push buttons missing. The radio works as it should. Could stand a good detail and shampoo of the seats. Does not smell like smoke or rats or musty - was always garage kept.
Running/Driving: The truck runs and drives really well and currently needs nothing to be road worthy. Since we have purchased the truck we have installed a brand new battery, new exhaust, (does not have catalytic converter) have gone over all brakes which were replaced recently before our purchase and also have gone over the front end (new ball joints) including an alignment. The truck starts right up, goes down the road nicely, still pulls strong, and stops excellent. It truly is a good running truck that I wouldn"t be afraid to drive anywhere. The steering wheel has a little play in it, the only thing I can say I would fix if I were to keep it. The original Lightning wheels are in very nice shape - wouldn"t take much to make them show quality. The air conditioning works - it takes a charge, but only stays cold a week or so. The rear tires are pretty bad, the fronts are have some tread left, all four are old and would likely need replaced before any road trips.
These trucks are getting harder and harder to find by the day. If you are looking for a time capsule mint show truck - this truck is not for you. If you are looking for a driver quality Lightning that you can take to work, take to the store and hit an occasional car show then this is the truck. This truck is priced accordingly and priced to sell. The truck is for sale locally, if the reserve has not been met and the truck sells locally - it will be removed from eBay.
