Vehicle description
I’m just going to man up and admit that with the appreciating Porsche market I bought this car thinking it would be the king of the naturally aspirated, rear wheel drive 964 cars. 1 of 701 produced. However I didn’t do my research and didn’t realize it would be a tad more raw than I bargained for. For starters i had no idea power steering was not available for the RS America. Next the U.S. version is the 3.6L and not the 3.8 offered in Europe but you probably already knew this. So allow me to sum up the pro’s and con’s for you to make a decision.
Con’s
- No power steering
- Sunroof
- Aftermarket radio
- A/C (purists want A/C delete)
- No LSD
- Previous owner installed upper strut bar, coil overs, 964 Turbo caliper brakes.
- Passenger door appears to have been repainted from what my Detailer at California Detail tells me. Has 1" scratch.
- No previous service records other than from my current mechanic.
Pro’s
- Non smoker. - No rust.
- Dialed in coil over system and Turbo brakes. The car stops.
- Both doors close with the signature Porsche ping.
- Fabric seats are perfect and do not have rips, tired side bolsters and or cigarette burns.
- Correct Porsche Cup wheels. No scratch or curb rash.
- Full fluid, valve readjustment, fuel pump replacement, service at 89,827miles by local mechanic Charles Rossignol.
- Clear title
- Euro fog lamp replacement. Notice no front bumperettes.
- Detailed by California Detail.
- Full tool kit, spare, books and 2 keys (one key missing lamp)
- No Buy It Now price. Whatever the auction ends at I will honor the winning price.
This particular RS America is a driver and as a result not priced as the sub 30k mile beauties on Ebay. Test drives and PPI absolutely welcomed and encouraged. Rest assured you will be receiving a well sorted drama free RS America you could pass to your children for generations. Will consider trades.
Seller requires an immediate $1000 deposit upon winning bid within 24hrs. Failure to do so and car will be sold to the 2nd highest bidder. Seller also reserves the right to end auction at any time.
