Vehicle description
This is “Rosie” the Volvo. This is what the elderly lady called her that I bought her from. She told me the previous owner was also an elderly lady client of her’s and gave her the car when she passed. I admire her clean and simple lines with rave reviews calling it a simple forgiving car that does remarkably well in the snow (despite being a rear wheel drive car) and easy to work on for the DIY’er. I bought her as a fun vehicle for me to drive and take to car meets but I have a 17 yr. old driver and extra insurance is super expensive right now. She has brand new tires, I mean like last month new from Les Schwab, newer battery, tuneup/oil change and an aftermarket stereo with hands free and bluetooth features. Other than that she is all stock down to her 14’ steel rims and plastic OEM hubcaps. The only “frilly” thing I can think of that she has is power windows that all work smoothly and quietly. She has been a California and Nevada vehicle her whole life and there is zero rust on her. She’s also been garaged her whole life so the rubber trim is in good shape. The only things to consider is that the AC only blows cool. The lady I bought it her from lived at Lake Tahoe and never cared. I think it needs to be serviced at the very least and I cannot tell if it’s been converted to the new freon but count on spending money to fix the AC correctly. I kid you not, there are no parking lot door ding/scratches or the usual trunk scratches. The paint is exceptionally shiny and no fading/clear coat peel anywhere. There is one small dent on the right side near the rear. It is a “soft” dent like an indentation, and there is no paint missing or metal creased. The right rear plaastic bumper trim piece is cracked but available through Ebay. She drives, stops and steers like a 96k mile car should. Transmission is butter smooth and the overdrive works. No annoying rattles or leaking air noises, she’s super tight! Her standard cloth interior is in amazing condition (this was not a car that raised a family) with no rips, obvious stains or smells. Rugs are in very good condition as well. All glass is OEM Volvo including the windshield. All electrical system works as should with things like brake, turn and headlites, horn, windshield wiper’s working as well as all the little courtesy lites. This is a simple car from yesteryear and I think that is why these “240”"s have such a loyal following. I classify the interior and exterior as a 9+ but not a perfect ten. Much better than a daily driver but not quite museum quality. The best part is it’s original, not restored. Did I mention it has steel not plastic bumpers! Comes with ALL owner’s manuals, 2 keys and receipts from 2011. Clear Nevada Title. I will help buyer coordinate with shipper to get the car loaded. Remember, NO reserve, one bid will buy her.
