Vehicle description
Despite the Virginia license plate, the vehicle is currently located in Utica, Michigan.
This Volvo is in excellent condition for it’s age and I wouldn’t hesitate to drive it anywhere. I purchased this Volvo in 2005 with around 150,000 miles and now it has 234,150 miles. Over the many years that I’ve owned the vehicle, I’ve done a variety of preventative maintenance, most of which is listed below. Oil change and filter replacement (July 2019) Reupholstered front seats (July 2019) Battery (July 2019) iPD sport exhaust (June 2018) Drivers side window regulator (June 2018) Brake rotors, pads, and parking brake (June 2017) Denso 100 amp alternator (January 2017) Tires at 223,132 miles (May 2016) Timing belt, water pump, thermostat (August 2014) E-Code headlights (September 2014) Mass airflow sensor (October 2013) Fuel filter, flame trap and assorted hoses (September 2013) Ball joints, tie rod ends, sway bar bushings, strut mount plates (May 2012) I’m sure there are many other maintenance that I’ve performed over the nearly 15 years that I’ve owned this vehicle, but these are the major things that I can think of and find receipts for. The paint is in good condition considering the age of the vehicle. As seen in the pictures, there are a few rust spots that have recently started to appear. There are also some scratches, also seen in the pictures, but overall, the paint looks good. The air conditioning has been recharged a few times over the years, but I haven’t used it recently, so it might need to be recharged again if you want to use it. The front and rear speakers are Boston Acoustics and I modified the original speaker grills with fit the upgraded speakers. As with many of these Volvo"s, some of the interior plastic is trim is brittle or cracked.
There is a full-size spare tire (with jack, lug wrench, and original tool kit) stored in the rear of the car. The 3 rd row seat is intact and the seat belts were removed but stored along with the seat. The original roof rack was removed from the vehicle and the holes were plugged with a kit from iPD. The Yakima roof rack is included, but I do not have the key for the locks. However, the bases are currently unlocked, so that shouldn’t be a problem. As I mentioned, I purchased this car in 2005 with around 150,000 miles and the intention of driving it until it wouldn’t drive any longer. Nearly 15 years later, I’m still driving it and I have no doubt that it will continue to drive for many more years to come. If you have any questions about this vehicle, please do not hesitant to send me a message. I’m happy to provide any information that I can to help you make an informed purchase with this 1992 Volvo 240. The vehicle is sold as-is, where-is, no warranty, express or implied.
