I bought this car with the intent of working on it, however its been customized beyond my ability. The previous owner swapped the engine and transmission with a 1997 Jetta. This is a common swap, usually referred to on the internet as an ABA swap. I need it out of my driveway. The old transmission is sitting in my garage and comes with the car.
I have the Title for the car and its registration is current.
The Good 1. The car starts and runs 2. The swap added a lot of pep to the car 3. The manual transmission shifts well 4. The body is in good shape, there is one spot of rust which I showed in the picture 5. Exterior Lights / Turn Signals / Power Windows all work. 6. Original leather seats 7. Heat works
The Bad 1. The previous owner that did the swap left a lot of wires from the old wiring harness disconnected. 2. The speedometer / tachometer do not work, this is related to the swap. 3. In general the under the hood needs to be cleaned up, some components are not tied down, like the radiator overflow. 4. Top needs to be replaced 5. Front window has a crack in it 6. Side trim is missing 7. Leather is cracked on the driver"s seat. 8. Front tire has a slow leak. 9. Radio does not work
