Vehicle description

About this vehicle This 1992 GMC Typhoon is an original. The owner has had it for 2 years. The vehicle is drivable and is not regularly driven. Seller"s Notes Relisted due to a non-paying buyer. Vehicle is located in Richmond Heights, OH. Vehicle Details For sale is a beautiful Apple Red 1992 GMC Typhoon. The beautiful Apple Red paint is all original and features a ceramic coating to protect it further. The aluminum alloy wheels are near perfect and provide an awesome look and stance. The charcoal gray leather is in excellent condition, with minor, and typical, wear on the left bolster on the driver’s seat. There are no rips, tears, cracks, or stains in or on any of the interior pieces or seats. The GMC Typhoon was built from 1991 to 1993, although only 6 were built in 1991, and they were pre-production or prototype models, 2,497 were built in 1992, and 2,200 were built in 1993. This particular Typhoon is #324 of the 4,697 built, and one of only 345 finished in Apple Red in 1992. It features the same legendary powerplant as the GMC Syclone built in 1991, the turbocharged 4.3L LB4 V6 engine. This V6 is a modified version of the Vortec V6 found in the standard Jimmy/Blazer. It features unique pistons, head gaskets, main caps, fuel systems, intake manifolds, exhaust manifolds, and a 48mm twin bore throttle body from the 5.7L GM small-block V8 engine. A Mitsubishi TD06-17C/8 cm2 turbocharger and a Garrett water/air intercooler were added to produce 14 psi of boost and almost 100 more horsepower than the standard version. The power is sent to all four tires via a 4L60 4-speed automatic transmission and a BorgWarner 4472 transfer case which splits the torque with 35% going to the front and 65% going to the rear axle. Other notable enhancements included upgraded brakes, sport modifications to the standard suspension, and a limited slip rear differential. The Typhoon also featured an air operated self-leveling rear suspension, which the Syclone did not have. The Typhoon has an official 0-60 mph time of 5.3 seconds, yet several auto magazine tests revealed a 0-60 in the high 4s. It was capable of a 14.1 second quarter mile at 95 mph as well. This Typhoon carries with it a clean car fax and comes with service history and a reproduction window sticker. This is a Typhoon that has been cared for greatly over the years, and would be a perfect candidate for a private collection, weekend fun car, or a show car. These 3 year only trucks are very hard to come by in original condition and low miles, and they do not disappoint. Exterior Interior Engine Download the Motors app
