Description: Bracken has been comprehensively restored back to her original specification , both mechanically and structurally, and as a result is in absolutely fantastic condition throughout. She is running and driving flawlessly, has little to no signs of corrosion and is looking great after a fresh repaint in her original colour of Eastnor Green. Bracken is powered by her original 2.5L 200TDI Turbo Diesel engine, mated to a 5-Speed Lt77 Gearbox and 2-Speed Lt230 Transfer Box. All are in great condition. The 200TDI Diesel engine is running smoothly with little to no smoke, plenty of low down diesel grunt and is showing no signs of slowing down. The engine has been fully serviced with fresh Oils and Filters and has also had a new Timing Belt, Tensioner, Timing Cover gasket as part of her restoration. T he 5-Speed manual Gearbox is shifting nicely with no faults present as is the 2-Speed Transfer case, with both Lo/Hi ratios and centre Differential lock working well. On the road Bracken drives wonderfully. A lot of the restoration work was focused on this and you can really tell when you take her out for a drive. As part of her restoration Bracken was treated to entirely new suspension with new Shock Absorbers, Springs, Bushes and all new associated hardware such as new galvanised Front Turrets, galvanised Spring Seats and rear Shock Brackets. Bracken’s braking system was also overhauled with new Brake lines and Hoses throughout, new Brake Discs, Calliper’s and Pads on the front and new Brake Drums, Wheel Cylinder’s, Brake Shoes and Springs on the rear. Bracken was also treated to new Swivel Housing’s and associated kits, new Hub Seals and Poly Bushes for the front and trailing Radius arms. Structurally Braken is fantastic. During her restoration she was completely dismantled down to the chassis and any areas of corrosion were dealt with. This included new O/S Out Rigger’s front and rear, new rear N/S Out Rigger, new Rear Cross Member and entirely new Footwells, all of which have been installed to a very high standard. The Rear Door was also replaced and the Front Doors have had new galvanised steel Door Skins fitted and repairs to their frames where necessary. New Door Hinges with Stainless Steel Bolts were also fitted. On the outside Bracken has been refinished in her original Eastnor green, which looks fantastic. She has also had new lights including, Indicators, Side Lights, Side Repeater Lights, Brake Lights, Reversing light and Fog light. A new Front Bumper has been installed along with a new Front Grille, new Headlight Surrounds and new Mud Flaps. New heated rear door glass has been installed along with new Rubber Seal’s, the front Windscreen Seal has also been replaced. On the inside Bracken ha s been tastefully refurbished back to her original condition. She has had new Front Seat Bases and refurbished Seat Frames, new centre Cubby Box, new Seats Belts, new rear Door Card, Premium Exmoor Trim C arpet Set and the moulded Headlining has been Re-trimmed to a high standard. Soundproofing has also been installed in the footwells, making for a very pleasant and refined driving experience. The Brief for the restoration of Bracken was to “Dismantle the entire Land Rover, replace with new or refurbished all worn parts, reassemble the entire Land Rover and refurbish the interior”. The work carried out during her restoration has been to an extremely high standard, no stone has been left unturned, and as a result Bracken is now truly one of the best examples of an original 200TDI Defender on the road. She is an absolute pleasure to drive and we are vey proud to be able to offer her up for sale.
