Vehicle description

Up for Sale is my 1992 Corvette C4. First year for the potent 300hp 5.7L LT1 V8. This has been my baby for the last couple years. I have done a lot of work to this Vette, many new parts replaced on it. So despite its higher mileage (230,000 miles), the suspension, drivetrain, interior, wheels, etc… lots of parts have been replaced making this 92 C4 drive and ride just as well or better than a low mileage C4. This is my second C4, I have also owned a 1988 L98 Z52 C4 coupe.
> Before I make you read too deep into this, let me just tell you off the bat what this car needs and why it’s priced so cheap. It needs 4 things mainly:
•Transmission needs to be rebuilt (doesn’t move in drive or reverse, but goes into and out of Park), I used to drive this car all the time until the trans went out on me earlier this year. This Vette will need to be trailered or Towed away.
•Battery just recently died. I have an Optima Red Top in it, unfortunately I let it die too many times and now it’s dead. I used to keep it on a Battery Tender but then had to move the car out of the garage and stopped using the tender so the battery finally died from letting it sit too long. This car starts right up immediately with a new battery. I tried jumping it and it runs for about 5-10 secs but then dies due to the battery being too weak.
•Heater Core has been bypassed. I have the brand new Heater Core in the box that I will include with the car. Just something I never got around to.
•Body/Paint. As you can see from the Photos, the clear coat is peeling in different places, there’s also some orange peel from a botched touch up paint on the drivers side of the hood thanks to the previous owner, and the rear clip was replaced and is primered in a red primer. The old rear bumper/clip was lightly hit by someone backing into it in a parking lot, and got cracked and damaged. So a new rear clip was installed and primered. The crash bar has been removed to save weight (this was going to be strictly my weekend/fun car), but I still have the rear crash bar that goes inside the rear clip if you want to re-install it. After being detailed this old Red paint still shines nicely in the sun and shines and is still a good looker from about 10 feet away. The Red on Black really pops. I have gotten many compliments when driving this Vette around, even with the paint issues. Still a good looker!
So these were the 4 main “bad” things about the car…
> Ok so now to the good stuff… lots of work has been done and lots of parts have been replaced on this C4.
•The Heads were sent out and redone, and Head Gaskets replaced on this LT1 V8. Despite the mileage, it runs strong with lots of power like a lower mileage engine.
•Complete Suspension has been rebuilt with polyurethane bushings, upper and lower ball joints, and new shocks. As well as all 6 U-Joints.
•Water Pump has been replaced, as well as Brand New Optispark distributer, Crank Hub, Front Seal, Oil Pan Gasket, Oil Pump, and the Spark Plugs.
•AC blows ice cold.
•ECM was rebuilt by AC Delco ($800)
•Interior has been redone! New Headliner, Seat Covers, shift console, brand new Bluetooth touch screen Stereo and all new Speakers installed. Lloyd floor mats, and window tint.
•New Gloss Black redline C6 Z06 Replica wheels with new Kumho tires on the front. Looks killer!
•All the catalytic converters were replaced ($1200) so it can pass the strict CA emissions test. If you’re in a state that doesn’t require emissions testing, you can sell these cats for a pretty good profit and delete the cats and run straight pipes for more performance.
•Muffler eliminators have been installed for a louder, more aggressive tone. So there are no mufflers. Pipes still come all the way back to the stock squares tips.
I’m sure I’ve forgotten about other parts I’ve replaced and other work that has been done to this C4. It truly runs, drives, and handles great like a low mileage C4 (before the trans went out on me). The drivetrain other than the transmission is in great shape. No electrical gremlins at all. No leaks. All the lights work properly inside and out, the pop up headlights work great (gears were replaced), the front tires are new. This is a chance to get a very nice C4 project for a great price. These C4s are rising in value and collectibility now and it’s a great investment as it will only go up in value from here on out. I hate to see my baby go but I must make room in the driveway sadly. As long as this C4 goes to an enthusiast who will take care of her, fix her up, and give her a good home, I’ll be happy.
*Once again please remember the Transmission needs work and the car doesn’t move in gear, so you will need to bring a trailer or tow truck. This C4 will need to be towed away and it doesn’t currently start due to the bad battery. Just a reminder!
CA tags are expired and last time I checked with the DMV it owed $449 to bring it current. If you’re in another state, this won’t matter.
Clean California Title in hand.
