Vehicle description

Up for sale is my 1991 Saab 900 SE (special edition) Monte Carlo Convertible. It is one of only 300 Monte Carlo Yellow convertibles sold, and prized by the Saab community for its rarity. Collector owned, always garaged and never driven during the winter. Last year a similar "91 Saab Monte Carlo sold for $18,000 on BringATrailer.com Priced to sell at $11,750
Less than 4,000 miles ago (2016) the engine and transmission were removed from the car and rebuilt. The rebuild and restoration included the following:
new head gasket machined head new timing chain, guides and tensioner new cooling system including water pump, radiator and all hoses new clutch/slave cylinder new drive axle new control arms new Bilstein sport shocks new OBX stainless header new Simmons Exhaust with new high Magnaflow cat power steering pump bellows replaced
The Saab Monte Carlo is a show stopper everywhere I go whether car show or my local Cars & Coffee. The photo"s really don"t do it justice as it is just a striking car to see in person. No rust issues anywhere. This Saab has had one professional respray. Cold a/c and very clean engine bay.
The interior has very nice dark gray leather with only one area of need (split seam on the outside of the drivers seat now masked with tape- see photo). Very clean dash with only a couple small (1/4 inch) cracks in the usual places. I installed four new speakers last summer but only the front pair are currently working with the original Clarion radio/cassette/equalizer. I suspect an issue with the pre-amp connection under the rear seat.
The convertible top is water tight and in good shape. There is one small hardly noticeable one inch wear spot on the back of the top above the glass rear window. The top motor works as it should.
Needs:
the drivers seat moves back and forth but the tilt knob is missing- an easy fix drivers side front headlight washer arm is missing small 2-inch dent (paint not broken) in the rear drivers side panel next to the trunk lid electric radio antenna occasionally gets stuck when closing anti lock warning light was intermittent and now on. Does not affect driveability
* Sold wearing a professionally refinished set of 16 inch Saab Super Aero wheels wearing Dunlop 205-50-16 tires.
All in all this is a wonderful running and driving classic car that will only go up in value. I currently own three convertibles. .probably two more than I need. My kids are off to college so I no longer need a 4-seater. Taking a cue from Marie Kondo (author of the mega selling book: "The lifetime magic of tidying up") I am trying to put my car hoarder days in the rear view mirror. I"m not totally letting go however as I still have two other Saab classics in my garage.
Personal inspections are encouraged. The car is garaged just outside of Charlottesville, Va and a few miles from the airport. Fly in and drive it home or I am happy to work with your shipper.
