Vehicle description

1991 Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit/Spur/Dawn II. Condition is Used. I bought this car a few years ago from a classic car dealership near Beverly Hills. I believe i am the second owner. the car only had 27,000 miles on it. From the dealers description, it looked like new and with that low mileage, i took a chance and bought it and had it put on the boat to hawaii where it is now. To my dismay, while the previous owner took good care of it, i did discover it needed several typical and costly maintenance items to be done to it. This included new A/C system with new compressor, all new brake rotors, calipers, pads and new lines, as well as hydraulic accumulators. Also replaced hydraulic accumulators for rear suspension. the original lacquer paint was showing small signs of cracking. I had all the paint sanded down to bare metal and repainted in original color with quality base coat, clear coat. I also changed all the engine valve seals as one of the spark plugs was fouling every 5 thousand miles. Then i changed the factory radio and speakers as they were on their last legs. Tires have less than 2,000 miles on them. Front suspension and alignment were gone over and all is good there too. there are only two small things that need to get fixed. the passenger side seat ECM controller just quit. i did the drivers chair last year. it costs about $350 to have it overhauled at a place in Idaho. they give a 5 year warranty. Labor to get it out is negligible. i thought to let the next owner do that as i doubt the warranty on the part will transfer to next owner. best if the buyer does that himself to get the warranty. Lastly, there is a periodic and intermittent ABS light that comes on. The mechanic went over the brakes thoroughly and changed everything but the kitchen sink with those brakes. He thinks the light is a false alarm and told me to ignore it as the brakes are all new and he can find nothing wrong with it at all. Aside from that the car is like new. I bought it for around $30,000 and put about $17,000 into it with all these above things and other odds and ends. To be honest, i found i am not impressed with this brand. i prefer a old school Cadillac or Lincoln. Its just my opinion, but i like the way those cars drive and ride better than the Rolls and they are designed better so repairs are a fraction of the cost of what similar repairs on a Rolls costs. But anyone looking to buy one of these cars, like most foreign cars already knows imports need more frequent and costly repairs and upkeep. For me, i am going back to only USA cars. Shipping- the car is in Hawaii. but shipping is easy and not really super expensive. i can bring car to port. will cost about $1000 to get to west coast, where any auto transport company can pick it up to bring it to you if you don"t live close enough to get it at the port. I will assist. but buyer will need to cover expenses. figure to add $1000 to any trucking charge from west coast to your location. PS. I have more photos if you want. just email me and i will send them along. thanks
