This 1991 Mercedes-Benz S-Class is the last year for the sought after w126 series, and if your looking at this I don"t need to explain what a wonderful car it is. This car belonged to a car enthusiast with a large collection of Italian exotics, but his wife says for a daily ride this was his favorite. Sadly he passed away. He bought the car in 2005 when it had almost 180k on it. Though from the service book you can tell that it was well maintained at dealerships until 176k! I took photos of some of the stamps so you get an idea. Soon after buying the car the owner"s health started to decline. He stopped driving in 2013/2014 and his son in law drove the car every few months to keep it functioning and changed the oil every year. Sadly we only have the booklets in the car and no paper work. The widow is still looking through stacks of paperwork and if anything is found we will include it with the car.
All the lights work, all the gauges, stereo, hvac (though the AC is not cold), and the sunroof works. All the windows work except the driver"s side rear window does not function. The driver"s power seat works though some switches are missing, and the passenger side power seat only works on the upper part. The car starts quickly and feels healthy. We have it parked inside and it does not leak or drip any fluids. We had it idling for 20 minutes in extreme heat and it stayed cool. We have only driven it around the block a few times but it seems to function well. The transmission shifts the way a Mercedes does and the brakes work well. The suspension has no obvious clunks or issues. I would not put this car on the road before giving it a thorough inspection. The tires are old and dry rotted and should not be trusted for any distance or high speed. The car is sold as is, and inspections are encouraged. Please do not hesitate with questions.
