Vehicle description
I am relisting this car because the buyer did not communicate. This car is in Houston, Texas and it is local pickup for cash only. If you don"t plan on coming to pick it up, please do not bid. Up for sale is a 1991 Mazda RX7 convertible. I have owned it for the last six years and I am the second owner. This car is a daily driver and has been garage kept since I have owned it. That said, it is 28 years old and has all the issues a 28-year-old car will have. The body is not perfect, as it has the rock chips and dings that come with 143000 miles. The two biggest body issues are the scratch by the fuel door and what looks like a bite taken off the passenger side mirror (not sure how that one happened). There are pictures of both. The interior is merely OK, and there is a small hole in the driver’s seat. The factory stereo was replaced as it simply did not work. I put in an inexpensive unit with Bluetooth and hands-free calling. I could not get the power antenna to work with the new stereo, so I replaced it with an aftermarket rigid one. The factory stereo and antenna will go with the car. The AC blows cool-ish, but if you are expecting the AC of a new vehicle you will be disappointed. The top is in great shape, and the rear defroster works. The boot that covers the top when it is down is included and is also in great shape. The wheels are good, there is plenty of tread left on the tires, and the giant hexagonal wrench is included. I believe the cruise control does not work, and the gas shock that holds up the trunk lid doesn’t work, but I will include the hunk of wood that I have been using at no extra cost. There is a very slight oil leak, and by slight I mean a few drops a week. It is not a leak to the point that I am refilling it with oil. The interior panels are not all flush, maybe because the previous owner had some work done, I don’t know. But it’s not falling apart. Included with purchase is the Mazda factory service manual for this car, not a gerneric one. This is an old car, so I suggest a test drive (it is a 2-seater, so please don’t be offended, but I am going with you). I live in Houston, so come on down. Please email me with any questions. The car is sold as-is, and it is for sale locally also so it may be taken down before the end. It"s a fun car to drive, I just don"t need it anymore.
