Vehicle description

Vehicle Details 1991 Camaro Z28 Convertible with 227,918 miles at the time of this auction. It is a 5.0 liter although the badging on the bumper says 5.7 liter. The last time I had it painted they replaced the wrong badging. I purchased this car May 7th 2002 on Ebay from a gentleman in Tampa, FL. It was actually his wife’s daily driver and had 112,000 miles at that time. I searched for quite a while for this particular car and trim and while not perfect, it was the best I could find at that time. I have done a number of things mechanically and esthetically over the years as my maintenance records will show. It is by no means perfect even with the maintenance I have done. It’s a 30 year old car that needs maintenance year to year. The car runs good but the 228k miles is starting to show. I’m approaching retirement age now and can no longer afford to maintain a classic car.The Camaro passed the NC State inspection last year with no issue. It was not required this year as 30 year+ cars are exempt in this state.I had the injectors replaced March 5th 2010 and the transmission rebuilt February 14th 2019. That is the only major work I’ve had done. I’ve had minor work such as water pump replacement which is also in the maintenance records that will come with the car.I’ve had the Camaro painted twice over the years with the most recent May 21st 2012. Always painted in the original color of Arctic White. The paint is in good condition for being 9 years old. There are a few chips here and there, mainly on the front valance. It could use a respray.I’ve done upgrades to the interior such as carpeting, leather seats, dash-pad (NOS), leather steering wheel and other pieces. The car did not have the original radio and I managed to find one from a 1991 Z28. The CD is currently stuck in the unit for some reason, so I hope you like the Rolling Stones. It happened once before and a radio repair shop was able to fix it for $100. All these receipts are included. The interior is ready for a refresh as you can tell from the pictures. The driver seat is in bad shape as well as the top of the rear seats that receive the sun through the back window. I’ve replaced the top twice. The top is in great shape, purchased in May, 2015. This time I opted for the glass window over the plastic. I was tired of the fogging on the plastic and this is a much better solution in my opinion.I bought new tires in 2019 and they still have about 90% tread left. I’ve been working from home the last couple of years and not driving as much. Some things to note, the service light comes on intermittently. This has been happening for the last 12 or so years. The Chevrolet dealership said it has something to do with the air/fuel mix but that the parts needed are discontinued. It hasn’t caused me any noticeable performance issues, just the annoying light that resets after turning off the car. Some days it doesn’t even come on. The airbag light stays on. I think that’s where I had the steering wheel replaced (by Chevrolet) and something must have come loose later on. Again, annoying but not an issue for me. The Tach doesn't work and the fuel gauge partially works. The only rust that I am aware of is in the battery tray. I’ve never gotten around to replacing the tray but that would solve the issue. It does smoke once at startup but is ok after that. It’s a gray smoke so you may know more about that. It’s been a great daily driver for me for almost 20 years and I will miss it. I hope the next owner will take it to the next level. I’ve kept it as original as possible. All said the Camaro is being sold “AS IS” with no returns. Please ask any questions BEFORE bidding and I’ll answer to the best of my ability.
